If you were able to make it to Sorrow's furnace (Hard Mode) and open the unlocked chests, would they drop gold items? I've been trying this but have had no luck making it down to SF with my dervish or 55 and figured it would save me some time if someone on guru knew the answer.

Yeah I'd like to hear from a couple of other people about this subject. It would only make sense for the chests to have golds, since it's so difficult to even make a successful run down there. We don't really know until someone that has done it multiple times speaks up here.

What needs to occur rather then "hearing from" is getting at least three different screenshots from three different players in order to confirm/deny such.
These screenshots should include EACH of the three chests that are avaiable during this quest, and should also include the Hard Mode icon in the top left corner (default spot) of your screen.

ive done the kilroy quest about 100 times. they do not drop golds. niether do the unlocked UW and FoW chests.

Did you notice any difference at all doing it in HM? Maybe lower req's?

guys they have not changed those chests im sorry to say. i think there was a note of them in the update notes long ago about the time they took the DD chests and the other ones out of the game.

Uhh...why am I not surprised you had no luck making it down there as a 55? Seriously, take a better build if you want to beat SF quests, not a solo farm build.

As razorwood stated they still drop purples in HM. and he actually tested it, so thank you razorwood.

Ive henched my way through the Kilroy quest in HM around a dozen times now just to test the rumors I have heard about golds dropping. All grapes, 76 delicious grapes.
The stats on the drops dont appear any better either. Might as well go through twice as fast in normal mode if you ask me.

I do belive I got some gold armour from the first quest chest in FoW
