My friend swears that having a higher wisdom title will grant better mods on items... Has anyone else found this to be true?

He has rank 5 Font of Wisdom (2,500+ golds).

You should tell your friend that swearing is bad.

Your friend should get some proof. People think dealing more damage gets you better drops, having certain titles gets you better drops, doing runs at a certain time gives better drops, etc. All of it is superstition, imo.

Utterly bogus. Weapons mods are predetermined BEFORE they are indentified. Equip an unided weapon with a fortitude mod, and you will see the +health before it is ided. Give that same weapon to somebody with a higher wisdom title, and the +fortitude won't suddenly change from a +28 to a +30.

It may be just his mind playing tricks on him. For instance, he id'd some items he got from a guy in la, or maybe chest ran in the shiverpeaks for golds. After a while he knew where the best places would be, and therefore start getting better mods. Even though the probability for getting better mods seem there, he may be just looking in a spot he knows has a trend of good mods.

it might be possible, i remember when someone first got KOABD title they swore their drops started to get insanely good, but i mean i dont think anything could be proven.

and hawk, yea its predetermined before you ident, but hes saying when it drops its already predetermined as really good. but anyway i dont think its ever been proven

Your friend may be confused between "better" mods and better likelihood of getting a mod instead of crafting materials...If I remember right, the greater your wisdom, the better % chance of not destroying an object when salvaging from it, thereby giving you more chances to salvage additional mods from the same item.

Drops are all random. Otherwise, PvE max titles in HoH = God weapons?

I find that when I play naked I get better drops. You should totally try it.

Glad to know Im not the only one who realized this.

But actually, I have R3 in wisdom, and I cant remember the last time I got a good mod (besides a 15^50 inscript.) And I know for a fact when I was R1 at the most I found several perfect shields and a few 20/20 +30 mods. So I can say pretty confidently that the wisdom title has nothing to do with the mods on a weapon.

But my chair chafes... Seriously though, it all seems to be some kind of messed up luck. I can do farm runs to try getting a green, and it can sometimes take me 30 tries before I get anything. Other times, I get 1 on the first run, and another on the second.

Higher Wisdom equals better salvaging ability. That is about it. And it is very handy when a piece of armour has a rune, an insignia, and you get them both and can still sell the purple or gold piece of armour with nothing on it for a decent price.

yeh hes wrong. Probably just a lucky streak. I had a friend who thought each lvl of chest/id title he hit the chest right b4 it would be good simply b/c he got a 15^50 req9 sephis when he hit his 6th chest title lvl.

I thought it would yield me better mods as well. When I would ID something, I would turn on my Wisdom Title. Silly me.

Yup, mods are determined when you get them.

Just equip a shield and you can see if it has +30 or something else on it, that wont change. Someone else said this before, but two opinions is always better

actually, before you even load a map, the weapons enemies drop are already determined. for example, i left senji corner and loaded up watever zone that has ghial boss in it. i was running thru some brotherhood knights and they were lifestealing me for 3hp. so i was like wtf, i went back and killed him. and of course i got a gold vampiric sword. so ya, i think titles dont affect the shit u get from enemies. unless u want to go as far as saying titles determine how ur map loads up.
