well, i guess it depends on ur system
ive got a p4 3ghz, 2gb ram, 6600GT slightly OC'd
and im running GW thru Cedega 6.0.2
only real difference in performance for me is that between zones, when loading
it gets a bit slower, seems like it pauses when connecting
same when chosing to log out, it takes a few seconds before it actually logs out
otherwise ingame performance is fine, im running cedega in a virtual 1400x1050 desktop, my fps is around 35-60 with all on max but shadows, for some reason the shadows are a bit iffy and dont want to work very good

Jumping you inspired me to post my laptop. The "real deal" if you would. Couldn't get a fancy picture w/ GW running since it doesn't play very well w/ Beryl (program that makes the cube in Linux). I'm happy enough that it runs well on Linux when I'm not using Beryl

The method i use is find the starry background file and overwriting it by saving another file on it, but i was just wondering if there was another more efficient way.

So, I had to try out the rotating cube thing.
Jumping, with Yodm, theres an option in the "options" that lets you select any image as your background to replace the "space" scene.
