So there i was on my new Rit going for the indomitable survivor title. It had been very easy so far, I had runed all my armor with full hp and carrying ashes always(740 hp), and while running through the middle of shenzun tunnel i got to this guy, sending my 7 hench/heroes flagged infront as always i saw one dropped quite fast but i though maybe bad luck. 1 sec later i was hit with a 496 lightning orb and a 194 mindburn and a 190 something else, lava arrows according to guildwiki - instant ko and it all happened at super speed faster than me or my 2 hench monks could react. I really dont understand how this mid game standard boss can deal this much damage, in all the campains i hadnt encountered anything quite like it. it was almost as if it was bugged or getting some synergy with something else nearby, but there was only the standard adds the boss usually comes with.

So i had failed to reach a higher survivor rank, but what i dont get is i was unable to kill that boss at all, i chain rezzed in combat and that failed, and fell back regrouped tried again and jsut couldnt touch him, he would just insta kill my team 1 by 1 at fast speed. there was no prot monk hench at this point nor would i think it helped unless it was precasted on all 8 ppl before engageing.

I feel robbed of it, i hate to imagine what that guy is like on hard mode, but am still wondering how he can hit so dam hard. Ive gone through all the missions/quests up until this with my hero/hench team perfectly smooth never wiped once even with many mispulls.

I know what you mean, Kam deals insane damage. I had the pleasure of meeting him in hardmode a few days ago, almost ruined my vanquish effort (i ran into his group last) but somehow I managed to kill him with most of the henchies/heroes at 60% DP, lucky robot interupts from the heroes i think. Factions definately has some nasty bosses that spike pretty good and are best to stay away from when going for survivor .

Factions and Nightfall bosses do double damage, if I remember correctly. This is only made worse by the low hench standard(imo). No prot Monk sucks really hard.

This guy in hard mode would probably be fairly overpowered, as it has double damage, and I think another 50% damage boost due to hard mode. Thats 300% damage!

The interupter henchie Daeman helped me out alot there, he uses BroadHead Arrow pretty effectively if you call target on the boss.

My actual team is :
me as a W/P acting much more as a close defender of the backline, as overextending in hard mode is not really good
Sousuke as Fire El with SF and more burning things
Morgahn as Support Paragon, 'They are in flames' etc + some leadership shouts to help the monkies
Zhed as an Air El/Rit with Blinding Surge, Enervating Charge, and some Rit Spirits like Refuge and Deplacement
Daeman the godlike interrupt R
the Earth El guy (forget his name) for his ward
and the 2 M henchies, who suck badly, Sister Tai is certainly worst than Alesia...

But i rather stay with some offensive heroes, as the best defense is offense

Thanks for any help on this...

Kam sucks arse indeed I don't find Kam too bad on his own, but when you get the two bosses near the end of Unwaking Waters and Shen (Ele Boss) is teamed with Jingme, the monk boss... *shudders*... That Ele - Monk combo is nasty and usually results in a party wipe.

I need to stay alive long enough to get hexes on everyone and survive the first big spells and then most of the time stuff starts dying pretty quick. Imo you can bring alot of offense but hardmode mobs will almost always do more dmg to you at the start, tho they dont have the healing so they will eventually die. I tried the high dps method but too often some henchie/hero would die at the beginning of the fight messing things up (and they dont do much dmg dead). Again this is imho, others might have a different opinion.

In quite a few areas, especially where there was no mass (aoe) enchant stripping, I used a hero monk as a bonder and kept her flagged behind, 50% dmg reduction on everyone really helps. I was at 32/33 in Cantha and stuck on Sunjiang District for a while (kept failing) till i brought the bonder. The mesmers stripped so I had to redo bonds after every fight which sucked but it helped me do that area. Good luck .

That's 5 words :P

Though BHA is good vs casters you gotta have a human ranger to do it properly. i.e. using a long range bow to daze the target before the whole team engage.
If you can't lure kam out of his group I'd suggest bringing a spirit spammer and prep shelter + union before engaging and cross your fingers as you take the first blow.

SS on Ssyn is kinda funny. His spirits asplode. Better still, spam it on his nearby friends as well, and you get a regular number-gore fest... ^_^

O'course that is assuming you can get close enough to cast it on him... and Enfeeble + Insidious Parasite on nearby warriors helps too.

As for Kam...
... Same deal mostly. I actually used Spoil Victor on him last time I fought him with my Necro. That was one very wasted Kam.
Similar story when I met him with my Water Ele.... First thing I hit him with was Maelstrom... followed by Deep Freeze, and the rest of my party did the rest of the work.

Interrupt these guys or punish them for casting... and they're like putty in your hand.
