In the past we have seen little flamey looking rocks, goat skulls, floaty stones, smoking flasks, chakrams, these are and where all decent, but with the introduction of EoTN, the REAL expansion, i feel that a-net can better 'expand' the selection of foci or off-hand items.
Practicality has always interested me in guild wars, and
foci have also always interested me, because they can add so much to a character's appearance.
Some things need to be practical, so here are exmaples of what i was thinking~
Parasol/Umbrella ~ Universal Offhand
Walking Stick~ Universal Offhand
Books/Tomes~ (a different design for each class, tied to a PRIMARY attribute, can be in a similar design to the Skill Tome Icons)
Fan~ Sure we do in fact have them already, but the variation is extremely slim, and it's hard to find a decent fan for any profession.
if anyone has any other offhand/foci ideas, post em up, and feel free to comment on the idea

As for foci, I think the mesmer should have maybe a crystal ball or something along the lines of that.
For necro possibly more skulls, personally I like the skull they have and I use it all the time
.O
I like the idea of off-hands with the image of accessories. Personally I would like to see accessories have an animation. Like when casting the pages fly out and encircle the caster or casting symbol while casting and all the lettering on the pages of the tomes have a different color to correspond with the caster type (mes=purple, necro=green, ele=red, rit=cyan monk=blue).
