Make tomes drop in normal mode

Elite tomes are currently far too rare. They sell for 10k+ and only drop from uber bosses, unless one farms for them in prophecies where the bosses don't regularly do 300+ damage, and even then they're still rare.

It seems regular tomes are relatively common, so the drop rate could get tweaked down if put into normal mode, but there's no reason that tomes should be a hard mode exclusive item, since many people have found ways to solo farm hard mode anyway. How about a way to reward people that don't farm or just want to skill cap in normal mode?

yes put them in Normal mode. Tombs are stupid.

I'm flat out tryin to get even one after farming 500+ monsters.

Let's face it the farming system needs to be deleted and re-made.

Wheres the insentive to play HM if we do that?

If we make tombs drop in Normal Mode it wont stop. People will start asking for the same better drops in Normal Mode, then they want FOW and UW teleportation scrolls in Normal Mode.

If you want a tomb, trade for one.

I have about 3 normal warrior ones, an elite ele one, and a normal monk one. I havent got a clue how Im going to use them. But we have to keep insentives to play HM, or even less people will play it.

My problem with tomes currently is that bosses are rare. There's maybe one boss per 30 enemies. The drop rate of tomes is pretty low, so maybe one drops every 50 enemies. So one might have to kill 1500 enemies total (unless farming) just to get a single tome.

By the way, they drop quite often from Hard Mode chests.
Maybe you're looking the wrong way to get them.

If you are that bothered about getting an elite on a character, there is the simple option of going and capturing it from the relevant boss, and it only costs a maximum of 1000 gold

It's absurd to drop them in normal mode, they are a hard mode invention as a reward, and incentive to play in it.

C'mon what is this, I had a few of them 5 elites, 10 normal ones. All I did was clearing a few of the areas, open a few chests, get drops and I didn't farm for tomes. There're every reasons that tomes should be a hard mode exclusive item.

They are actually quite common in HM. It will just take a while for prices to stabilize and for them to start becoming commonly available to the masses who don't play HM. Just think about how rare and out of stock insignas were when NF first came out.

I don't know where you're getting your information, but Tome drops are so common it's bothersome. I tried for half an hour last night to sell three diff. Elite Tomes in Kamaden AD1 for 15, then down to 10k ea., and that figure is apparently too high now, as I didn't even receive a reply for a counteroffer.

I'd be happy if they dropped the Tome idea altogether, vastly increase the rarity of the drop or switch it so that they do drop in NM instead of HM as I feel that very soon these Tomes will be valueless.

On a side note: Sorry to be a English Nazi, but how in the hell are so many people confusing the word for a large book with the word for a crypt? I mean, c'mon, it's only FOUR letters people!

I'd rather they drop more often in HM than they are now instead of adding them to easy mod.

Would seem reasonable for normal tomes to drop in Normal Mode and elite tomes to only drop in Hard Mode.

Tomes drop hard mode only, like lockpicks.
It would be like making a drop unique of some area drop anywhere... much like zodiacal weapons dropping in Old Ascalon.

When I need quickly some XP, I set hard mode, put a boss farm build on, and go kill bosses with the help of some scrolls.
Then I get a lot tomes.

You could do the same.

Maybe if they dropped but were extra rare?....
