Rit/mes or mes/rit
Raginghellcat
I have one char slot left and i'm debating what i want to create. I know it should probably be one of the two listed but i'm not sure if there is a good way to do either. I'm not an expert on either type and want to play around with these two profs. Can you help me make a decision and give me some insight into the best way to go?

Rt/Me can probably synergize better together than Me/R. Personally, I think Rituaists are more fun in PvE too. MM ftw
Fishmonger
definately go with Rt/Me. Sad to say, but mesmers have beomce nerfed to hell, and rits get buffs a lot more. you can heal better, kill better, do everything better. rits 4 life

Am I the only one that like FC Restoration and Chanelling? Me/Rt all the way
Pericles
I would go with the mesmer, not because they're 'better', but because i think people should try to give the more 'unpopular' classes a shot. I myself have a mesmer and i rlly enjoy it, i have no trouble in getting into grps and i personally like the illusion magic line. But i wouldnt go /rit.
As a final piece of advice, u should rlly consider this skill: 'Signet of Illusion'
Elite Signet. Your next Spell uses your Illusion attribute instead of its normal attribute.
Good luck!

Pick Me
It depends on what you plan to do with your character.
Looks and armor may play a factor.
Fast Casting has 0 effect on binding rituals.
If you don't like to combination, then you are forced with your primary choice.
I have a Rit and a Mesmer, my Rit is Rit/N. My Mesmer will be going the Me/Rit route, but I like the Tyrian Mesmer, so I have a Me/Mo right now.
Soloing = Rit/Me. Healing and protecting a party = Rit/Me. Unconditional damage = Rit/Me.
Fragility killer = Me/Rit. Fast healer = Me/Rit.
Hope this helps in your decision.

Thanks for the input. I've already had a mes/mo back in the beginning of prophecies. I made one because I like that there weren't many of them. I played mostly as domination. It was fun for a while but it got hard getting in grps later on.
I'm mostly PVE and playing just for the fun of the missions. I mostly hench and hero. I want to find different ways to play the game. Different strategies and things of the sort.

This is purely a theoretical opinion, but as cellardweller said, fast casting channeling must be very interesting.
Spawning seems to have almost no influence on channeling builds, and most powerful channeling spells take 1-2 secs to cast. Fast Cast could help this.

And also, as Me/Rt you can always change to Me/E and fast nuke your way through PvE.
Yeah, fast casting channeling does have a good ring to it.
