I've finally had it with human teams for this mission, everytime we get to shiro the same old story, DEAD!
Is there a viable Hero/hench team i can send out to nail Shiro and the Lich?
thx in advance

Well yes, I hero/henched the mission for masters. This team worked really well for me, but I don't know how good it is for other primaries.
Basically find Lord Helemos' 'So good it's cheating' team build with:
General Morgahn (P/W) OQGkUim45imDWxCzVW3vbNcMWeD
Margrid the Sly (R/P) OgkkchYY2amzi5xYhrxYnijvReD
Tahlkora (Mo/Me) OwUTMyHDzQgzseUMgWwEyEA
Then I believe I took
Mhenlo (healer hench)
Cynn (Mage hench)
Odurra (Illusion hench)
<<can't remember this slot, sorry>>
And Me as an A/W OwFj0xfzIPBlHm/7g1w2fusBIA
Basically nuke the Lich, cap the shrines ignoring Shiro (flag a LOT) then run back out the door.
Set the flags so that your team is as spread out as possible around the doorway, aggro shiro and fight him. As he approaches half health I stick 'Critical Defences' up and then alternate with critical strike and wild blow to end 'Battle Scars' thus recharging my critical defences. This usually results in a no-fuss Shiro death and masters for the mission.
Try that group, or whisper me in-game for a no-fuss stroll through the mission. I've done it about 20 times now helping both guildies and randoms, and have even managed to do it twice with an afk 'parked' character.
IGN Boris De Pig if you want to take me up on the offer.

kill the Lich first then run around the shrines and capture them.
to kill Shiro, bring a curse necro with Spiteful Spirit, Insidious Parasite etc and warrior with wild blow, some crippling skills to slow him down while capping. dont forget eles to nuke out damage.

I can not believe Anet has not toned this mission down. If I want FoW, Tombs or DoA then that is where I will go.
Come on Anet get a clue, Shiro is the boss in the Factions campaign...
What a poorly designed mission...

price of failure+ reckless haste + +blurred vision + SpoilVictor IMO

Most of the time, pugs are too dumb to kill shiro.

What a poorly designed mission... Ow C'mon! If you manage to get this far in the game, then you must at least knew how the game work by now. There are lots of tactics to beat that mission posted here already, both heroes & henches or full humans party.

Have managed to get masters on this with 4 characters using full hero hench teams.
Generally I take Koss with Wild Blow and Whispers as Spoil Victor. The third hero is your choice. Usually I take Norgu as domination spiker.
When you get to the temple, pull shiro out as he has a larger aggro radius. Spread henchies out and manually spam wild blow/spoil victor in addition to normal damage skills. He hardly takes a minute to go down. Once done, run around capping shrines and then take out the lich.
This is much easier to do with hero/henches than with a PUG as henches follow orders!!

Yeah, I do know what tactics work, both by playing the game and reading the forums.
Although having Shiro be the hardest boss (including Abaddon) in Nightfall is weird at best I don't mind it just like I dont mind the Faction endgame mission. What I do mind is going through the first part of the mission to have such a high chance to wipe and do it all over again.
Most people tend to avoid this mission. Even if they say its easy and in theory it is easy, it doesn't change the fact that the mission is poorly designed due to the fact that you go through 30 minutes of coordinated fighting to have Shiro kill you if you make the slightest mistake.

Yeah I've always hated having to do the first half of the mission over and over again repeatedly because of mistakes. I've heard from many killing Lich first is the key but I've never actually seen it work. Every time I've beaten that mission, it always happened because Shiro was killed first. Usually spamming Prot Spirit is the key, especially when Lich gets up to where you battle at the top of the stairs. After that we went and capped the shrines (guild group) with the Lich following us and it was fairly easy without Shiro attacking. I'll have to check out that heroes/henchie team build.

it is effective tactic for that mission, done that this exact way with several characters (i use better builds thou).
kill lich, ignore shiro, do bonus, kill shiro.
shame most reall people dont get "ignore shiro" thing.

Beating Shiro & the Lich with heroes & henchmen is easy, getting the bonus... Well, I've never managed. "Ignore Shiro" is a lot easier said than done when he sees the entire room, moves faster than you do, and hit for 200+ points.
Actually I've not even been able to separate Shiro from the Lich, they seem to have the same size aggro bubble and both stay in the center of the room.
EDIT: Although my char there is a necro. It might be easier with a char with speedbuffs. Also I've not tried sending in a bonded char to cap the shrines.

Kale Ironfist
A curses necro, especially one with weakness inducing, is incredibly useful so as to reduce his damage output.
My own experience was rather horrendous due to being tired that day, forgetting to put my Spoil Victor hero on either Aggressive or Defensive, and also forgetting that Impossible Odds spreads conditions back to who he hits. Being a CripSlash warrior, I ended up being the reason why three people died due to taking high amounts of damage in addition to being crippled, bleeding and suffering from a deep wound. Even then, we still survived and beat him.

That's not autofail. I've seen both strategies work. Kill Lich first, and Kill Shiro first. It's a matter of preference.

Shiro is dangerous only when being attacked, and activates his most dangerous skill as his hp aproaches 0 ... otherwise its easy to prot/heal.
You want to flash heroes/henches often so that they dont do stupid stuff like wanding him
Tip 1: Blinding Flash reduces shiro to puppy if he does not use impossible odds. he only uses it when under 50% hp.
Tip 2: if you move as far as possible behind shirnes (hug outer wall), shiro/lich looses interest and returns to center, giving you break to regen and space to fight shrine guardians.
Lich on the other hand renoves enchants and hits for ~400 a hit ranged damage. much nastrier if you are going to run around.

I have completed this mission with all classes except warrior. I tried with groups and always had party wipeouts. I completed the mission with just heros and henchmen.
Keys to killing Shiro and the Lich with Bonus is for me
1. Dodge the titans and run past them on the bridge network on the way to Shiro (Saves time and henchmen will follow you titans do not follow too far)
2. After getting to the portals take them on one by one
3. Take on Shiro first (he will be the one that can kill your group so it is better to take him on then to go to all the trouble of killing the Linch and the temples just to fail) use the environment as advantage set warrior in door way then set healer/protection hench flagged so agro bubble barely touches the warrior. Next character for me is Necro with Spoils of victor set up flag opposite side of healer. Flag balance in middle right behind warrior ( you are making a fan look)
4. I do not take any conditions Shiro transfers them right back at you. Warrior must have Wild blow. Necro Spoils of Victor or Mesmer’s Empathy is very good for killing him.
5. One character walk towards Shiro He will attack you and follow you. Run back to your position in the fan
6. Kill Shiro If you are not the warrior make sure your hero is spamming Wild Blow on him.
7. Now attack Temples one by one keep crew in the back of temple so the Linch losses interest in you.
8. Finish all temples and kill Linch Backfire is good skill but your team if it made it this far should kill him quickly

Well, I'm sorry that you think the method I propose won't work when it clearly does...
I have done a run where for some reason the Lich just wouldn't aggro so we killed Shiro first. The problem seemed to come with the fact that the Lich could insta-kill Tahlkora with one of his attacks and did so regularly making the mission much more tedious.
For those of you doing this mission after Hard Mode (and the subsequent nerfing of 'Normal Mode') should count yourselves lucky. This mission is about half as difficult now as it was then. Sure, it's still not easy, but a tiny mistake on positioning and double-aggroing Margonites and Torments no-longer leads to a party wipe.

We do the ignore Shiro trick, works every time. I'm sure some will lol, but we always take an mm hero/person. Minions distract Shiro VERY well while we cap the shrines. Then we run out the door again.
I had guild groups for most of my chars but decided to go for masters with only heroes/henches on my sin, and it was very easy (before the hm/normal mode nerf). The trick there, is A/W with Mark of Insecurity and Wild Blow. Never seen Shiro go down so fast.
Anyway, just another idea.

spirit spammer(either r/rt or rt/x) with perma shadowsong, koss with wild blow, and either curses with SS, or curses with SV. Henches dont really matter terribly much at that point.
