Titan Quest Reward Improvement Suggestion
ClanYumemiru
This is something that came up in another thread but got me thinking.
The Titan quests basically are without "real" reward.
OK, sure it's a huge load of XP (130000 total if you do all 5) - but at the point you can get the quests you really don't have a need for more experience points - after all, you've just finished what's arguably the longest campaign in Guild Wars (not just in mission count but also in ground covered), you're probably already overflowing with unused skillpoints, and given how hard you have to work for these quests, well ...
So here's an idea.
Reduce the XP reward and give a Crystal Token for each quest, and 2 for Titan Source.
3 Tokens can be traded at a Collector for an item (either green like an end-of-game item such as in Factions or Nightfall) or a gold (in the style of the Gate of Anguish) that a character can see as a tangible reward for the effort.
Well ?

Too bad they probably won't be upgrading prophecy.
That would be very nice however. Perhaps just make it purple (or even better, a blue) just to make a difference between the campaings.Of course with the potential of a gold item.

basically I agree upon the point that the reward is pretty useless by that time in the game, rewards of xp are only usefull for leveling in my mind or for gaining survivor titles, I would much rather see some kind of physical reward,
what that is I don't know, but would be nice, the green item would be nice, as there is none in Tyria at the moment but there is in the other chapters

Nice, but what do you do for those of us who did all the Titan quests because we felt like it?

Anyway I do like this idea (maybe they could use some of the Design-A-Weapon winners).

Would encourage people to do them. On the other hand, if it takes a.net's time and effort away from doing other projects, I'd rather they focused on that (ie, GW:EN).

But they have to give the new rewards to people that already did the quests too. Like when they gave refunds if you already had Razah.

OK, whenever there's a new campaign/expansion people will mob it anyway for the first few weeks/months - but then they gradually drift back to wherever they feel comfy (or pick up where they were prior to that release)

A lot of things happened since 2005... and most prophecies rewards (but skills and a couple of items) just suck.
I know some people who bought Factions and Nightfall and finally Prophecies. And they say 'story is fine, but the whole "you get things too late and rewards are horrible" thing spoils it'.
Changes can be made to old campaigns. It's not like 'make it no' but, 'make it when possible'.

The crappiness of Prophecies rewards has always been a big gripe for me. But I gave up any hope for improvement a long time ago.
If they were to add something like this, they should add it for Sorrow's Furnace, too.

Yeah, most of the other campaigns missions are easier and have a better reward then that. Unfortunately, given Anets previous treatment to older games, this requires divine intervention for it to happen... which may as well be impossible.

But sure, the titan quests are even worse.

SpeedyKQ:
You raise a valid point there - the questing has taken a back seat to the (relentless) farming of greens in Sorrow's - I'm afraid that there's no real good solution for it; restricting green drop by quest completion is no option, it'll only piss people off, however your suggestion of giving players an extra boon upon completion of Final Assault sounds good though - maybe along the lines of the end-of-mission chests in the Ebony Citadel - although perhaps not quite THAT quality/rewarding (after all, it takes much bigger balls to play Domain of Anguish than it does to play Sorrow's) ... but it certainly would be a good alternative for the more 'casual' player to enjoy.
Edit: and yes, the Titan Quests are worse - no greens, no serious Elites you couldn't already get earlier (and probably easier too) and a heck of a lot more work (I'll meditate on Sorrow's Furnace for another thread)

I can't be bothered to do those quests that are worth virtually nothing.

I'd like to see these quests repeatable..otherwise any (significantly) improved rewards would seem kinda pointless to me..just my 2gp

very good request - you'd think you would get more from doing that high of a difficulty quest.

At a repeatable level, you'd have to crank up the number of Tokens to get any item to really high levels, say 10 or even 15 per item, which would place them out of reach for most players (which in itself would be counterproductive, after all ,the idea is to get as many people as possible interested in playing the quests, not ?) - suire, it would allow classier rewards, but, then you have to balance it against things like Ugoz' Warren, the Deep and even the Gate of Anguish ... which presents its own problems.
Additionaly, it presents a much bigger coding/implementation challenge to the developers (trust me on this one) which in itself reduces the chance of anything being done to adress the problem - which would be rather .. counterproductive, neh ?

too late,
unless it is retroactive... it really screws over the people that actually did it for the sake of doing it and not for the items.

Altough I'd prefer them to give you the tokens if you've already done the quest. I've just finished all the Titan quests (so I have an empty quest log) but I wouldn't be able to get the tokens.

Idd, the rewards in Proph are worthless or even non-existing.
No endgame reward and no Titan reward. So this proposal is very good.
The quests are not that easy, u rly have to work for it. I should count in some sort of title to and should get a reward that suits the effort.
Good threat!
