Hiya, recently capped [skill]power block[/skill] after getting tired of my migraine build for pvp and my E-surge/Ineptitude build for pvp. After i capped it i tried various things to get this skill to work in a build for both places, but i just couldn't find anything that "clicked". I was just wondering if anyone had any advice to get me started. I'm not looking for a complete build if you don't want to share, just tips or a couple skills that go good with it.

Thx, Karomi

It's quite dependent on the area, but this is a Powerblock build I ran in GvG for some time;

Power Block
Blackout
Diversion
Shatter Enchantment
Gale
GoLE
Power Leak
Res

Leak/ench removal, diversion, powerblock give varying manners of shutting down in different situations, pblock and gale/blackout give hard shutdown on pushes, as well as blackout giving slight defensive capabilities against enemy frontlines.

Essentially, what you use on what target is dependant on what you are doing. During heavy pushes, taking out monk bars with bo/pb allows you to break a team easier. When trying to get pressure out on a defensive team, PB can also serve to open oppurtunities by disabling water eles/curse necroes/air eles; although all of these can be dealt with using other skills on the bar. It is quite flexible in each shutdown capacity.

What I use in GvG:
Power Block
Ignorance
Diversion
Shame
Glyph of Lesser Energy
Shatter Enchantment
Power Drain/Drain Enchantment
Res Sig

12+1+1 Domination Magic, 9+1 Fast Casting, 9+1 Inspiration Magic

Ignorance is for added incompetence and nice vs Frenzying Warriors and Monks using Sig of Dev and/or Sig of Rejuv.
Diversion+Shame for when Power Block is recharging. Power Drain/Drain Enchantment for additional energy management. Power Drain if you need the energy much, Drain Ench if you don't want to interfere with Power Block. Look for Aegis, Necro's and Ele's.
If you want to stick with hard res (either FomF or Res Chant), replace GoLE with Auspicous Incantion and use it on Shatter or Ignorance.

Power block its pretty much gonna shut down a cast (since most are single attrib based) once theve been disabled its best to slap things like empathy, Spirit Shackles and Mind Wrack on them since they cant do alot but wand and it will drain them dry, if they arnt killed by the time the disable effect wares off they will be low on energy and a greatly reduced threat.

[skill]Power block[/skill][skill]Guilt[/skill][skill]Shatter Enchantment[/skill][skill]Empathy[/skill][skill]Spirit Shackles[/skill][skill]Mind Wrack[/skill][skill]Spirit of Failure[/skill][skill]Ether Feast[/skill]

something that allows good damage on Casters and Melee alike.

something that allows good damage on Casters and Melee alike. No real point in using power block in this case if it's PvE though. Stick empathy, mind wrack, and some edenial and you get the same effect.

In PvP, anyone who will be casting skills probably won't be wanding you and taking empathy damage with spirit of failure.
