Unidentified Luxon Garb with no runes when I identify them?

OK so there was this girl at Temple of Balth who was selling unid Luxon Garb (gold) so I thought yeah why not. I switched to my main char to identify them just to see that I get no runes when I identify, but I do get the gold points for the title. I just get this:


NOTE: No runes were removed or anything. That's the status I got when I id them.

I dunno if it's a bug or anything or is the person a "cheater". Should I report to Anet the person or is there something I don't know yet?

The runes that were on them may have already been salvaged out before you bought them. I believe it's still possible to do that

Well I didn't lose much so I don't care, but there should be somewhere a big warning for people who never been scammed like this and who could spend a lot of money, not just for the point towards title but for a possibility to get sup. rune of vigor xD.

sorry to say mate, but you got scammed.. now, when you first got the armors did they say unidentified on them? if not, then the person Identified them a long time ago salvaged the runes off and waited for someone like yourself who was looking for a quick cheap deal and didn't pay attention, just saw gold and hit accept having trust and faith in human kind to be nice and actually give what was promised.

sadily anet will not do anything about this, they will simply tell you tough luck.. and pay more attention to your trades next time.

it's like the guy spamming in ToA, Chantry, Zin Ku.. WTB Ecto for 7-10k when you know that sounds too good to be true since ecto from the trader has been 6.5-7k lately, so you go and put in all your ectos.. and he gives you 7g or 10g per an ecto and you happily hit accept.. anet will say.. that's your loss, learn to trade and be more careful.


use common sense... the worst places for scammers is Balth Temple, and of the Major Trading Cities, LA/Kamadan/KC just scroll over before you buy.

The thing is they were all UNIDENTIFY when I got them and I identified them and got points towards the title, but nothing on the armor

It is still possible to salvage runes from unid armour before IDing

I always salvage my gold unid runes before sIding them, it usually gives me 2 gold Id's from one item.

On the note of the OP, I never buy unided armors for this very reason, although it doesnt matter really if you're just paying for the +1 on your wisdom track, it still erks me...

This could backfire on you, at least with Nightfall armor (you may get an insignia instead of a rune, and destroy the armor in the process, giving you 0 gold Ids).

I think that you'll still get the option screen when salvaging unID'd armors. Have to go test it.

donno how much you paid for it. 7 golds for 10k is a common price for just the title.

yeah, you dont wanna salvage out runes before ID on nightfall armor, just canthan/tyrian for best bet. you can, but....

Ive been buying golds 7 for 7-8k lately guys, LA as well as Kamadan, shouldnt be too hard to find prices below 10k...

This is very true, I forgot to mention that i do most of my chestrunning in tyria and cantha where worst case scenario is you lose the armour.

the botters in Zos Channel sell them 7 for 3k ...

all bots salvage 1st, thats why most of them have R3 -4 in Wisdom title and possably 1-2 in treasure hunter.
