I'm trying my best to do it with heroes/henchmen but am having no luck. I'd like to finish the whole game with heroes/hench so I was wondering if anyone had some advice. I've poured of Wiki's suggestions for hours (well, not that long) and can't seem to put together a winning combo. I do the left to right to middle thing, but only seem to get Abby done to half at best before I wipe. I've tried the 4 monk thing (Wiki said "Master's would be no problem with that strat.)
I play a dervish (have all skills) and have most of the heroes up to 20 with maxed weapons, etc. Any ideas would be welcomed....please....

Things that help me finish it for Masters
1. All Heroes have Resurrection signet NO Rez spells
2. I would run a prot monk Hero with Shield of Regeneration as elite
3. Koss normal build but have a Bleeding attack
4. Other hero could be caster that burns (Searing flames) or Ranger with poison Arrow
5. Conditions help degenerate his health quickly (take the Illusionist health with you Conjure Phantom is good)
6. All secondary’s for your Heros should be Mesmers and equip Leech signet (You need to take Light Bringers Gaze Use it to disrupt torment claws and Attacking Abadden.
7. I attack in this order always “force my team to follow” Group at Right Hand destroy them then Left Hand destroy them then Middle Group. Then attack him Calling him as a target. Your team may not agro since he is not attacking so force them to! (If at any time a torment claw pops up Call the target and attack it Immediately)
8. Once he Abadden lifts his head break agro and run to the right fist and repeat click on the ground to force stubborn Henchmen to follow
Good Luck

all good points, additionally I've found it useful to add mending touch to all my monk hero skill bars to get rid of dazed.

I made Masters in under 13 minutes on what was my first try, not counting a quick get-acquainted peek with the identical team that had just done the prior mission.
My team featured:
1. Primary nuker running Savannah Heat, because neither Abaddon nor the Torment Claws actually move. I Arcane Echoes it, and actually also took Firestorm, in part because it was a good idea and in part because I recall Firestorm being the ultimate noob skill pre-buff.
2. Two hero nukers doing Searing Flames, because that's what I usually run. I think they had Leech Signet, as they always do, and for this mission Physical Resistance.
3. Norgu, featuring Wastrel's Worry and Cry of Frustration. Also Leech Signet, Mantra of Recall, and probably Physical Resistance.
4. Herta, because she has Sandstorm, following the damage-over-time theme.
Anyhow, Wastrel's Worry famously rocks on uber-bosses, because hexes end on them in half the usual time, and they tend to occasionally use super-powerful monster skills. Interrupts that don't just target spells are good. Damage over time is great for that mission. Heroes can't be trusted to use Arcane Echo well, but for that mission without a primary elementalist I'd go through the trouble of having Zhed Arcane Echo Savannah Heat or Sandstorm even if I had to press the buttons myself.
And team defense is good. E.g., you might want to go /W on your own character for Watch Yourself.

I'd suggest you take note on what cause you to get wiped at the half way. The match is identical in pattern throughout (with the exception of random, i-can't-do-a-thing-if-you-are-not-next-to-me Claw Torment spawns). So, if you can survive the first round, you shouldn't have any problem with the rest.
It's just rinse and repeat till the boss is dead.

Two things to remember:
1. There's a lot of Dazed, and a lot of damage against you.
2. There are very frequent morale boosts that recharge your skill bar.
The most obvious consequence is that your rez is signets, period, not slow-casting hard rez.
Other consequences:
A. Slow-recharging skills can be very useful.
B. Going /mesmer for Mantra of Resolve is very appealing for casters.

having a HUMAN monk with Martyr and Purge conditions works good too...if you are doing it with hero/henchies, it would probably be best to take melee dmg and interupts for the claws. I found that with the constant interupts, dazing and knockdowns, its not a great idea to take SF ele. Not to say it doesnt work, but it didnt for me.

Perhaps the best advice I can think of is not to be greedy and be patient. He doesn't heal, so take it slow and wear him down. Don't try and stay on him to the last minute and then get caught between two groups AND his attacks.
A good method to get the groove for this is LB gaze. Not really for the damage (it does like 46 on him) but for the timing. My last time through, was with my necro. I had two hench monks, sogolon and devona. My heroes were tahlkora (all prot, no heal area or such needed and no resses), zhed (just for sf burn) and koss (deepwound is only important thing). My build was kinda straight from shiro (SV) and I couldn't really be bothered changing much (which is bad since abbadon doesn't really attack so most of the melee hate used on shiro is useless, but eh I'm lazy).
Anyway, went in, took care of the two on the right, two on the left and then the two in the middle. Oh, and kill any claws that pop up, though I only had to deal with like 4 in the whole mission. Anyway, abbadon's head comes down, hit him with LB gaze. Then attack him with whatever skills you have until LB gaze recharges. Hit him again with the gaze then pull out back to where the two spawn on the right. Rinse and repeat. Just leave after hitting him with LB gaze as soon as it recharges, he'll pull up soon and you want to be away without getting caught on any spawns. Should be easy if you're only dealing with one thing at a time. Even all his aoe attacks aren't too flash as long as you're not battling spawns from multiple directions. It does take time though, but its easy. Hell, my only contribution (other than directing the heroes/henches and wanding) was LB gaze x2, parasitic bond 1 degen and life siphon 3 degen per round that abbadon came down. Thats like 92 damage and 4 degen per cycle from me. Which is really, really poor. But even then its enough to get masters (was like 15 minutes something).
Just take your time and you'll have no problems. If you can actually be bothered changing your build for this, bring stuff thats like +damage, degen or armour ignoring etc. It'll go even quicker then.
