A couple of questions....

Hi there

I have recently made myself a 55 Monk (i had one before, but i deleted him after ANet nerfed the Griffon's). I have been looking around this forum and the Monk forum for answers but some of what's being said is confusing to me, so im hoping you can help clear things up.

1. Solo Farming Trolls (Droks) & Hyrda's (Augury Rock).
I have been farming these alot recently, mainly for practice before i attempt UW again but i never seem to have anything drop other than Troll Horns or Hyrda Claws. Some people on here are claiming that these drop very good items, but i have yet to see evidence of this. I have had characters power levelled before and have seen people have lots of dyes and the occasional gold item drop, but all i ever seem to get is gold coins or the Horns / Claws. Am i doing something wrong? or are these just the wrong places to farm?

2. UW Smites problem
I have given up on 2 man UW because i have a problem tanking smites. Whenever i attempt to cast heeling breeze, it doesnt work. It works when tanking the Bladed Ataaxe but as soon as i go to the smites...nadda. This has killed me on a number of occasions, im not sure if its something im doing wrong or if its a bug i just havent seen reported yet. Im hoping someone has an answer to this.

3. -20 Offhand or Armor removal
My -50hp offhand was given to me by a guildie. He had already sold the -20 item to the merchant . When i die, instead of resigning and starting again, i get a res and remove one piece of armor, this will give me enough hp to tank the ataaxe until i can remove my DP. However, a very helpful (by helpful, i mean abusive) Necro informed me that i was a "noob" for using the armor removal technique and that i should get myself a -20 offhand. Which is the better method to use?

With a recent update, loot was changed to scale based on party size so solo farming was somewhat nerfed. Several items like Globs of Ecto and green items are unaffected.

You can also try Shield of Absorption, but don't quote me on any of these. I think they'd work, but the players who actually farm UW may tell you otherwise.

I mean, when i hit HB on my skill bar, my monk will finish the casting animation, but HB doesnt actually cast, i get no benefit from it.

VERY ODD on the HB point man, sounds like a bug!!!

This may seem a bit obvious, but make sure you're targeting yourself hey... Reason I say this is I was soloing Hylacon Job and found that I was casting PS but it was not taking effect on me. I later figured out that I was casting it on the Canthan Peasants cos I have them targeted as enemies before they wen neutral...

Just a thought!!!

i have on occasion cast the spells on my necro partner, but i usually notice, and have never died doing this, and i always make sure that im targeting myself when tanking. Perhaps its just an unfortunate bug

Which is the better method to use? -20 is better b\c you don't lose the attributes of the sup rune that you just took off, unless its the 5th rune you bought. Just spend 500g and buy a -20 offhand.
