I feel the current system tend to favor too much high ranked guilds. In a normal rated gvg if a guild is stronger than mine we have the advantage to play in our hall.

In current metagame hall means a lot, a good condition pressure for example is much stronger in jade or burning isle than in ice, where the home team sure have a split team. I'm not saying "ok we're in ice they split we resign", any battle can be won with good strategy and skill, but nevertheless, home team have the better hand.

This system works well. In ATS you applied the opposite contrary.
Guild halls selection is random, and that's questionable but ok, we play in a random map, it's a matter of luck (i don't like it but it's reasonable). The wrong thing is that the ATS system announce in advance what maps are in play and in what order.

My guild is average, we are normal ppl, we're not koreans paid to play in shop malls, so we have decent skill and we can play well only one or two build at a time. I find tremendously unfair to give the opportunity to guilds that can play all builds because they have 10 hours a day to play to choose the best build to play in each round of the tournment.

Imho you could:

1- make it like rated, wrost guild play in his map. drawback: a good guild could loose points in unrated to play in his maps the following n tournments

2- make the maps random. drawback: you remove the synergy in teambuilding related to maps, it's alll just random

3- choose some maps when the tournment start. players have 1 hour to choose a build that adapt most of the maps (oh god, ice, warrior, ranger, wizard, jade! ok guys prepare your split build). The order of the maps is random, repetitions possible, over a uniform distribution. So i can adapt my build but i have to keep in mind that i can play an heavly hall-dependent build but i could end up bad (in the previous example i would select a split but i must keep in mind that i could end up in jade an perhaps be prepared). Drawbacks: i like this method, you tell me

4- Ignore me and leave it all as it is. Drawbacks: a three-day rain of frogs on your buildings.

Have a nice day, comments appreciated.

The fact they announce the maps gives people a chance to prepare. Even if you're not as hardcore of a guild, you should still know the basic map layout. Sure, your build might not be as good, but anet's intentions are to make it like tournament play...which is also it's undoing.

I've pointed out in many other threads that this AT system is very elitist and favors the guilds with the most playtime and most practice. The fact they tried to model it (loosely) after previous tournaments means that it's designed with the top teams in mind, rather than casual guilds with limited playtime or limited build variety. Despite all this, I don't think those suggestions would be very good either...this entire system is screwed up.
