Why buy a req 7 shield? It gives you an attribute split advantage. The breakpoint for most warrior stances is 7 tactics. The next breakpoint, 9 tactics, requires a harsh stat split. Being able use 7 tactics is a luxury for warrior primaries...but becomes critical for PvP Monk/Warriors. At 7 tactics...an LoD/Infuse or RC prot monk can use a 14/9/9/7 split. To push up to 9 tactics, you have to drop Divine favor down to 6 or some other painful stat sacrifice.
Why not just use a green req 9 that has +10 versus a damage type? Because being able to fulfill your shields req and get an unconditional +16 armor is really powerful.
This shield also has a lot of PvP history. It was used exclusively by Team Quitter [QQ] monks, Tom (I am teh Monk) and Drew (Rep Protein A). Tommy has a similar shield...but it is an ugly skin...so by definition inferior. It is a really good item which I hate to sell...but I am really poor right now and need gold
