The irritating things I found with GW.
VinnyRidira
I have played thousands of hours of GW. The title grind I can well do without. The only title really worth anything was Lightbringer. I am sure there are people who enjoy grinding out titles, I raise my glass to you, but it is not for me. When I first got to Ascalon from pre searing I was very poor and there was very little external stuff like the wiki. As a W/Me I bought mesmer runes wanting to improve my mesmer skills. Of course I could not understand why I could not put these are my decidely poor armour. Of course I could have doen lots of research but I like the game of discovery. Basically a warrior is by and large a totally useless magic user.
In order to have more energy I had to buy ridiculous looking armour.
Why on earth cannot I mix runes, I still cannot understand this ridiculous restriction.
Why is it I cannot have a cut version of my secondary professions primary attribute. Say 50% effective or (level / 2 * 5)%
Why give people bonus weapons that are full powered making anything you find really crummy by comparison.
The speed of levelling up between Prophecies and Factions was bizarre to say the least.
Hard mode missions are ridiculous as they have not been rebalanced properly. The story lines in them are totally bizarre in hard mode, by and large.
I guess I will have to put on my flame guard, but understand these are my observations and not necessarily yours. Bear in mind that I could care less about playing PvP as I do not have the time or energy to devote my time to this form of the game.

EDIT: If anyone wants to remind me that Eles make great tanks, please re-read the OP's post. He uses the word "warrior" and not "tank".

I can't tell if this post is riddled with seriousness or sarcasm...

perfect example:
The Elementalist primary would nearly disappear because in high-end play, max energy is useless. People would opt for.. higher armored, more preferrable primaries. (A Mesmer with 16 attributes in fire, is 100% better then an elementalist with 16 attributes, energy storage skills aside [we all know you dont' use them in pve anyways])

Well met!
I, too, while enjoying my time in Tyria, Cantha and Elona overmuch in fact, am, when I pause to think about it, aware of so many things that are wrong with the Game, but refuse to take them seriously. And why should I? Why should I be one of those who rant and rave about the latest nerf/drop rate/meta game or, worse yet, rant and rave about the "good old days", when PUGs were PUGs, Skills were Skills and Gold and cool gear fell from trees? Or call each other names about such matters as a Warrior's job description? Or treat the Game like the floor of the New York Stock Exchange? Or consider anyone who disagrees with them as stupid/lazy/ignorant/immoral heathens worthy of the most inhumane treatment imaginable? Or try to exert the kind of control over the people in their Game environment as they wish they could in their lives? Or base their worth and enjoyment of the Game on their titles and material possessions? I enjoy the diversity in the Game. I enjoy the ability to adapt and grow within the ever changing landscape of the Game. I enjoy the unpredictability of the people in the Game. Of course, I am from New York City. I would.

The move to Q&A might not make sense initially, but some of these statements are actually more in need of additional information than feedback right off.
This is a relic of Guild Wars Prophecies, likely due to difficulties with retrofitting changes. In all future games, Factions and Nightfall, armours are available in all types.
Factions has versions of every armour for every Factions-based armour type, giving a variety of choices for mixing and matching looks and stats. Nightfall uses the inscription system, where all armours have a clean slate, and you apply the buffs yourself.
You're going to have to clarify this one, as I'm not sure if you mean mixing different runes from the same profession, the same attribute boosting rune of different qualities for the same profession, or mixing runes across different professions.
The first is do-able as it is, while the second and third are intended to enhance balance for the game.
I don't think the passive ability of most primaries would be broken by being able to raise them at a reduced level; Many are lackluster even for their actual profession. However, a number of powerful skills are stuck in primary attributes, in order to make them more profession-exlcusive, and this might be problematic, even at a reduction.
To the best of my knowledge, they vary from either being unable to be altered at all, with the upgrades set in stone, which often include one or more mediocre upgrades; Or they lack an upgrade, and can not have one altered anymore. See Nevermore Flatbow and Spiritbinder.
However, modless collectable items with max stats have always been in the game post-release, and unique max stat weapons with max mods in the form of high-end greens have been in the game since Factions, as a suitable parallel, regardless.
Also, bear in mind, for the US and EU pre-orders for Prophecies, pre-order items lacked certain bonuses, were substandard, or were otherwise lackluster, and this was complained about by many.
I have never used my Ithas Bow past the very, very start of the game, and even then, I replaced it with a weaker bow ASAP, as I couldn't meet the reqs. By the time I could, I didn't need it, so really, any weapon would have done on my ranger.
This was a symptom of the chapter system. Factions was designed both to be a standalone game, and also to quickly get people to the end-game content for old-time Prophecies players. The result was that the early portion of the game put people on a fast track to 20 so that they could focus on developing the end-game content, leaving some players feeling very rushed.
This is, theoretically, the reason why, instead of another stand-alone, the next addition to the Guild Wars family will be an expansion, adding end-game content alone.
I second not knowing what you're referring to here.
Note that this does not equate to my agreeing with everything above, or liking it at all, but these are, to the best of my knowledge, the reasons why the above are as they are.

HM. Old Ascalon, 3 rangers and a monk hero (before the kiting problem was 'fixed'). We succesfully vanquished the area, with Talhkora at -60dp for 80% of the night. It WAS funny though, I was a touch ranger acting as tank, and Talhkora kept on running in front of me and standing there getting pounded on (while being flagged 1.1 aggro circles behind me and set to passive).
Im fairly certain both GWguru and the wiki were alive and well then as I began using both as reference material about 7 months prior to that...

GWguru was around since I started - 22 months ago - and IIRC it was around during the beta's. At the least, back when we had a good search function I know I found threads that were talking about them in the present tense, not something that had already happened.
The wiki was start in may of 2005 according to their "about" page and that, too, is well over 11 months.

The OP should stop using his warrior and play other professions.

If you want to use another profession's primary attribute, make one.

Isn't the OP the same guy that wanted to make it so you can change primary professions? Stop suggesting trash like that and maybe you won't get flamed so much.
