WoW-style item link
Miss Filth
If any of you have played world of warcraft, you are probably aware of look-linking or in laymans terms, sending a link to char that, when clicked, shows the stats of the weapon or armour that was linked. Also in wow- you can veiw a piece of armour on your character before you equip it. I tihnk it would be a good addition to GW to be able to look at armour on your character before you buy it, much like the dye system.

Armor-No
Items-yes
Reason:
You can see how the armor will fit.
But when it comes to items...I can't,until I buy it.

Sending a link to an item, so you can view its stats in a chat message - already possible! Im not 100% sure what the command is, because I never do it.
Trying on armor before you craft it... well... I think its a good idea. But having played WoW myself, there is a huge, major difference between GWs and WoW.
From my experience, there are virtually NO websites online that allow you to preview WoW armor properly. Not in a fashion that shows you them on a character. Its nearly always shown in small icons with stats next to it.
You cant just go to a website and think "I want to see what tear 40 armor looks like for my mage", then clickly click a button and see.
But with GWs, we have www.guildwiki.net which very nicely and very easily gives us a page which displays ALL armor ingame. Both female and male.
It basically provides the facility to preview armor before you buy it, and thats how I always decide myself. It doesnt really offer anything more, then what a preview function in GWs would.
It is a nice idea though, and I cant see why we cant have it. Investing in 15k armor is a major thing afterall.
As for previewing weapons! Again, unlike WoW, we have www.guildwiki.net which lets you view weapons being held! It lets you see what a weapon looks like in a players hands.

Would love to see this.
Imagine being able to say (Since Anet won't give us an AuctionHouse)...
"Selling Drago's FlatBow"
and people being able to just click on it and see oh it's stats are:
"15-28 req. 9 15^50 20/20 hp+30".
previewing items would be cool as well. I remeber sitting in cities watching people spam items or ask for links to items and previewing what it would look like.
Weapons:
so shift, or ctrl or alt, or whatever clicking the "Drago's Flatbow" would allow you to see. "Oh wow, it looks like a giant composite bow, i'll buy it".
Armor:
you could see what the whole Primeval set looks like without buying the whole set, or having to look at websites (something no game should require).

The armor preview idea is another suggestion, already made, in another thread.
The item link suggestion has been made a couple of times, one in a reply of a different suggestion, and one separately.
Both are good ideas. But the item link should REQUIRE you to have the item in the inventory, not in the storage, so people can't exploit it to fake items, like the do to make 'all elite' builds with the build links.
