Sounds like it could fun; it gives the minipets a use. It would be easy to bolt a ladder to it.

The minipet is chosen prior to entering and is controlled via the standard pet controls. The battle takes place in a smallish circle, each half controlled by a player.

The player has his energy set to 25 (with a regen of just 2 pips) and his health to 1000. He is immobile and unable to attack. There is no healing for the player. Game ends when one player dies (is at 0 health) --or-- the 5 minute timer expires. If the timer expires, player with the highest health wins.

When the timer hits 1 minute, the game enters "Victory or Death". All damage is doubled.

The player's skill bar is replaced, and consists of the following:

1 & 2: Two minipet attack skills, determined by the kind of minipet. They function much like normal pet attack skills.

3: Comfort Minipet. 5 energy, 1 second cast. 0 Recharge. Rez a dead minipet, heal a live minipet. A rezed minipet is positioned back near his master. When a minipet dies, the player's skillbar is disabled for 5 seconds.

4: Summon mini-Archer. 10 energy, 2 second cast. 20 Recharge. A defensive unit that stays near the player, attacking any enemy unit except for the enemy player. Max 3 Archers.

5: Summon mini-Bodyguard. 15 energy, 3 second cast. 20 Recharge. A defensive unit that stays near the player, casting spells on any enemy unit on the player's side of the circle. Max 1 Bodyguard.

6: Summon mini-Footman. 10 energy, 2 second cast. 20 Recharge. An offensive unit that marches towards the enemy player. Attacks bodyguards first, then archers, then the enemy player. Max 3 Footmen.

7: "Go Team!" Shout, 5 energy. Recharge: 5 minutes. Player performs the "Go team" emote. For 20 seconds, all allied creatures move and attack 33% faster.

8: "I choose you!" Shout. 5 energy. Recharge: 5 minutes. For 20 seconds, the player's minipet has +8 health regen and mini-pet attack skills cost 0 energy, recharge 50% faster.

Example mini-Pet Skills:

* Rurik: Blazing Sword (sets the target on fire) and Die with Honor (kills mini-Rurik, but recharges all of the player's skills and gives 25 energy).

* Ghostly Hero: Distracting Shot and "This Base Belongs to Your Party" (ghostly says the line from the HoH tutorial cutscene, all enemy characters teleport back to their own side of the map.)

* Lich: Vortex (target shadowsteps to a random location and mini-lich steals some health) and Raise mini-Minions (raise mini-bone minion from a corpse).

Stupid fun. Or maybe just stupid....

Sounds like Pokémon.

I'm all for minipets gathering our loot, akin to some other RPGs, but I do not want to see them in little arenas battling it out.

I say it's a fun idea, but why not only used in PvE, minipets buffs you up.
