Give America Rare mini's
MMSDome
Ive noticed countries like Japan and Taiwan always get these cool mini's thorugh random draws and whatever a net-cafe promotion is. Why cant we get these cool things in America, I want the chance to get a ultra rare mini without having to spend a ton of gold.
Wilian Norward
Yeah give Americans the chance to become instant multi millionares.
Zinger314
Because ArenaNet already has the market in America. They need these promotions to entire players in other regions.

actually...you DO get rare minis, like gray giant and asura. Asia countries dont get those.
VitisVinifera
out of curiosity, is my grey giant worth millions on Asia, but I can buy stuff like pandas, kanaxais, island guardians for relative chump change?
and if so.........how!

Crazy thing is that I live in Japan, and I dont even know how to get one of these, I still play on the American Server even though I get online when most people are just waking up for the morning or still sleeping. Wish I knew how to get these over here, anyone have any ideas???

I don't get this net cafe thing, to be honest. Anything in this game that comes in limited numbers = money. This perpetually seems to favor Asia, but thats cool, whatever, expanding market share and all that jazz. I just dont see why it's still the case when GW2 has been announced. We are all now irrelevant. The "money" has already been diverted, and we are a bunch of ghosts. (This is how business works). My only question is why Japan still gets the 1,000,000$ mini pets. GW1 is over. I don't get it. My dollar for GW2 is still up in the air. : )

cause u have Bush as ur avatar! jk
Etta
maybe you need to inva......liberate those countries, in order ot get them mini pets, Mr. President.

truth be told i wonder if this is why all the companies who sell gold are also asian. they get the good stuff come to us and sell it then take the gold and sell it on Ebay. woul dmake sense.

It's called marketing strategy. Go back to school and learn economics :O

GW began in America and moved to Asia later. There have been several incentives to promote game play overseas. Part of making money on a game with no monthly fees is to get more people to buy the game.
Anything rare in game will be worth more. If you think about it, Americans got the 2nd birthday minipets and Asura/Grey Giants first. How many of you sold your Asura (or bought more magazines) for 100k + ectoes while no one else had them?
I think it is fair. Americans get dibbs on a lot of things. I think part of the argument here is about how unfair it is that other countries get exclusive items. Yeah, that makes sense to me. I'd love to have some of those Coke Items. But if this argument is over "they have it and we don't and I want it and why do I have to pay 1000k for it?" then please, throw your tantrum elsewhere. (not a flame to you JeniM, just keeping with the overall tantrum theme).
It is genius really...how better to quickly get gold from American players to players in Asia? Give them something the Americans want!

hey, I'm in Australia and we didn't even get the Azura out here.... Not to mention the fact that we don't even have our own servers.

Australia..........PC Powerplay..........139 – June..........2nd May
a bit later than most of the others all be it but u still had the chance of one
HawkofStorms
eh... does it matter? I mean, it's not like the OP has a good chance to actually get one of those 12 uber rare minis. Half the super rare mini's get bought up by super rich collectors on European and American servers eventually anyway. Does it reallly matter what region they start out in?
Enko
if they're released here too, it will drive the price down since they'll be more common. got no problem with that.

why is everyone crazy with those minipets i personally hate em they were good when they first come with the 1st bd but i rly got bored with them i sold my aatxe and i blame anet that they put again stupid minis instead from something else

I agree with this. Though I'm American, I would say it's fair to distribute Ultra Rare miniatures to other regions, like the US or European Servers. Asian players get to have only.. what was it 100 Pandas? Perhaps the US districts can get 100 ultra rare Grizzly bears (or something) and the European districts can get 100... Can't think of a major animal! Perhaps a bunny or something(sorry).
As far as I know, Guild Wars has never done an ultra rare give away specifically to either the US or Euro servers; perhaps it's time they do so.

Mr. G
i belive that anet said that we will have our chance to get these "soon" (2-7 years)
And why only america?

I'll save you all that 'you americans are not the belly button of the world' blah, blah, blah.
All those miniatures were given in events and such...
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Miniature
But it's true that only Taiwan and Japan is just not fair.
There should be a Spanish-only miniature... a Glint miniature should be fine... only one... in the entire game.... ever... for me only and alone. Yes, that would be perfect.

The Following is a list copy/pasted directly from Guild Wiki; please note if you see any sort of favoritism towards various regions
The Asura and the Gray Giant are the only ones that were released directly to North America and Europe. And even then, their rarity was offset by the fact that they were available to purchase from magazines by litterally millions of people, and probably bought in the hundreds of thousands worldwide. Certainly not a level of uniqueness that can be attributed to any number of Asian mini's.
I've never seen a picture or reference to one, I didn't know they existed! must be so cute. Could you link me to a page with information about it by chance? And I REALLY don't get the belly button comment.
Certainly Agree with that, all the regions should be able to have special promotions.

Just wondering - do you guys want those to be free for all (maybe with a magazine) or just for lucky people attending a certain promotion event and highly skilled people winning championships?
I wouldn't go to the events, i don't buy gaming magazines and i don't play anything but PvE,- so personally i really couldn't care less!
And i might add that though we poor Danish people eventually got a chance to buy the game magazines with the Gray Giant and the Asura, it wasn't until the prices on those pets had dropped to less than 20K. Hardly worth buying a (rather expensive) magazine for that amount of GW cash.
Its pretty important to me that GW sells well so Anet have money to throw at the continuous development of the game,- and if thats all it takes to get all of Asia "hooked" i say: lay on them with the mini's!

Ah, okay sorry MithranArkanere, I thought you meant there was an Ingame Lynx minipet already, my mistake
And yeah, I didn't buy an Asura code. I had an interest in it when I could have sold it for 70k+, but I have yet to see a single PCgamer of that edition here. And really, I agree with you, I couldn't care less about these kinds of mini's. just it seems a little unfair that the rest of us don't get an opprotunity for unique miniatures, albeit however small it might be, unless we have several billion platinum stashed somewhere.
