Has anyone tested keyless/free Elonian chests in hard mode yet?

I haven't tried this yet but I thought of it today when I was openings the free chests on the training island. After I picked up my 500g and my non maxed gold weapon, the thought crossed my mind. I was wonder if anyone has tried it and if the chests gave more than 500g and more rare golds in Istan.

That was the only place I could think to test it out because the chests on the mainland have good drops anyway.

Well i have tryed a few in hardmode and let just say the drop's haven't had any effect what so ever. I've also noticed that as you use them more and more, like me i'm on 5 or 6th time with charater they drops have gotten alot worse. Anywho thats my take on the free chests.

yeah the freebies are not any better in HM, about the same as in normal mode, I think. Well at least mine are not purple yet.

hey moneys money though ... the only diff on HM is the drops are better getting to the chests

I hit all of the free chests yesterday and the amount of gold was considerably less than before and every item i got was purple, there were 2 other people with me and it was the same for them. Did this get nerfed?

No, it's not nerfed, if you've been running them, the quality of the items and gold amount lowers.. I'm only getting 200g from the Istan ones and 500g from the rest, all purple too.

If they dont have some type of control over what it gives overtime, it's pretty much like giving each of our characters a free allowance monthly. etc.
