no, no, and sort of (in that order) is what we're told.

Nope. It would be an easy loophole against their next-gen loot scaling system, which will eliminate ALL drops in GW2 in favor of a more communist approach to obtain things in the game.

Gaile said shortly after the PC Gamer article, that nothing is transferable, except titles or something (from Hall of Monuments)

It doesnt matter as it is, Guild Wars 2 is over two years away.

Oh c'mon give the OP a break. He's working for NASA and for the past 8 months, he had been on a lunar expedition. Welcome back to earth, Major Tom.

Gold - NO!
Materials - NO!
Weapons - possibly!
Titles - YES!
But I question anyone, who wants to transfer gold and materials to GW2. IMO their lazey and pathetic. Its a whole new game!
Why should Anet let you have this huge advantage over other players by letting you have huge amounts of gold and materials from the word go?
Come on people, stop being so unrealistic and get used to the idea of having to start a fresh like everyone else. And dont talk about "rewarding customer loyality", thats why their letting you transfer titles and possibly weapons.
If your the kind of person who bites their nails, worrying over whether or not you can transfer gold from GW1 to GW2, then you have serious issues. It not a huge deal to have to start from scratch! Stop being so greedy and accept it!

From what I undserstand nothing will be transferrable to GWII because its a totally new game altogether with a new economy and new mechanics.
However, titles will be displayed in the Hall of Monuments and players will be rewarded in GWII for those titles by the means of something purely aesthetic - like a dreaded mini-pet.
GWII will most definitely have a whole new host of materials and weapons anyway. The entire structure will be so different that it will become apparent that transferring items is not possible because they are two differeny games with a similar name.

You know, if this forum actually had a half-decent search function, I get the feeling these posts might happen a lot less.

No need to trash the OP guys, not everyone reads Guru constantly. He/she simply asked a question that obviously a lot of people have been wondering about. As mentioned, the search function doesn't really help...it's not too good

Hah, sorry that's one of the most corrupt and greedy things I've ever heard. lol.. j/k. That would be a little unfair to new players though I have to say.

It seems a blatenly obvious, bad idea which would just continue the poor - rich devide and give certain players a huge, unfair advantage.
I honestly think anyone who even considers this, is way too concerned about their ingame wealth and needs to come back down to earth. Gold isnt hard to make, and I doubt it would be any harder in GWs to make.
In all the MMOs Ive played, Ive found it extremely easy to make large amounds of gold simply selling items to merchants.
Im sure this wont be the last person to ask this, but sorry if I brand them all with the same "Greedy" label!
