A question about Lockpicks

Well, I want to ask something , because I am having an issue with the lockpicks.

With my principal chestrunner , I have the following titles:

-Adept Treasure Hunter [260]
-Seeker of Wisdom [193]
-Charmed [56772]

And a 18% ? chance that the lockpick cannot be destroyed after openning a chest.

BUT

With my other character, that is a new character btw, I have better chances with the lockpick ? He has only the Charmed [56772] title.

And 22% chance that the lockpick cannot be destroyed after openning a chest.

How it is possible that he has better chance than my chestrunner ?? My chestrunner has the same lucky [because is an account tittle] + Adept Treasure Hunter and Seeker of Wisdom , but has less chance ? what is wrong here ? I am missing something ? it is a bug ? or I just don't understand how the lockpick is working ?

Are you opening chests in HM or Normal Mode?

Chests in normal mode are levelled so you are more likely to retain a lockpick opening an ascalon chest than you would a obsidian chest.

First of all wisdom doesn't effect it only lucky and treasure.

And are both characters playing in Hardmode? The base chance in normal varies depending on the value of the chest, (It's based off the key price).

Yes both in HM , it is strange , following the formula (Character level / 2) + (3 * Treasure Hunter ranks) + (2 * Lucky ranks) (%) , my chestrunner chance is ok, but the other one must be 12% and not 22% lol

It also depends on where you are. Earlier parts of the game will give you a better chance to keep it.

thak ypu , that answers my question as well , sort of , I have a few charicters , only with "charmed tital" and there chances to keep the lockpicks on a chest are still different , My necro has a 22 % chance of keping it , and my ranger only has a 12 % chance , both are in the same place , and on hard mode, and have about the same amount of high end chests opened 75 for nec anr 80 for ranger , yet my ranger has a lower chance of opening them ...
the only difference is , my nec has about 2 mill xp and ranger has 600k xp .. cold this be a hiden factor ?

Check again to make sure you have this right, and if it is, you jsut found yourself a new chestrunner.
