Whirling Axe for PvE?
Silversword22
I'm intrigued by the elite axe skill Whirling Axe. It has such a low adrenaline cost which allows for frequent usage, however if blocked...well...you're in trouble. ANYWAYS, I was just wondering if this elite skills even worth the trouble for PvE and if there are any good builds that successfully utilize it.

No, it isn't a particularly good skill to be blunt. It's a shame, but it's merely one of them filler elites that aren't particularly good, and serve only as a means of boosting the skill hunter title
The low adrenaline cost means that if you spam it, you'll drain adrenaline from better, higher-cost skills on your bar.
However, if you don't spam it... Why the hell are you using Whirling Axe?
One place I did use it with some measure of effectiveness was the Consulate Docks mission - The enemy rangers there lay down Infuriating Heat spirits, meaning a Whirling Axe on every attack. Also, the low adrenaline meant it wasn't a biggie whenever I dumped my adrenaline to Wild blow off a ranger's Whirling Defense. With Dismember as my other adrenaline skill, and some energy-based attacks, it worked ok.
But for general use, Other Axe Elites > Whirling Axe.

If you can get a way to always be getting double Adrenaline (Infuriating Heat or Mark of Fury) and use an IAS stance *coughFLAILcough*, you can put out some damn good DPS. Remember that +damage from skills is after armor. You'll kind of end up feeling like a gimped Dragon Slasher though, as they don't require assistance from other characters to be doing it, and they get bigger numbers.
