Nice job on the armor A.net, I'm kinda wondering though why they didn't do the same thing with weapons/items that drop or are crafted in tyria and catha..

It's hardly worth playing PvE in these areas anymore unless you're working on a certain title, it's about time they make inscribable weapons drop in all campaigns imo..

I think they probably will add it eventually because they already added inscribbable drops in the deep, and Urgoz's warren. It might be that they have to alter the code for each of the weapon skins. In which case it could take a while.

^Lol, they did? Really? If that is the case I'm gonna have to go check that out. Prepare to see a decrease in the value of Zodiac Weapons... (if this is true)

I hope they do start dropping inscribable weapons in Prop & Factions. I don't care if they decide to leave the existing weapons as-is or change the inherent mods on existing weapons to be inscriptions (sorta like they did with armor). I enjoy playing the two older chapters more than NF, but I hate getting gold drops where the staff has a req in fire, halves casting time of curses spells and adds +1 to inspiration spells. It certainly gives people playing through NF an advantage in having significantly better chances of getting a weapon with the stats they are looking for without having to farm endlessly while rubbing a rabbit's foot praying to multiple deities for a drop with the right inherent mods.

For the people who have old weapons without inscriptions, don't worry about the value of your existing weapon. It is worthless anyway since you customized it. What? You didn't customize it? Why do you play with a gimped weapon that you are the only one looking at anyway? If you had the money to buy some uber skin with perfect stats, then chances are you farmed endlessly for something that you coveted and you got it. ANet is not going to take the weapon away from you. I assume that you bought it with the mods you wanted, so it is not really much different from getting a random weapon and ading the inscriptions yourself. Seriously, how often do you change the inscription on your NF weapons anyway (at least the ones you use regularly)?

Point here being, there is no REAL harm to anyone by starting to drop incribable weapons in all chapters. Blah, blah, economy, blah, blah. Whatever, I just want to get the skin I want with the mods I want, just like everyone else.

leave it how it is.

how can you add an inscription to an item that is unconditional? this would completely ruin the rarest weapons in the game.

There are core skins.
Nightfall has incriptions.
GW:EN will have inscriptions.
Cantha has inscriptions in final Urgoz and Deep chests...
PvP uses inscriptions too.
So it became 'core'. And would not be fair to get a core skin inscribed in Nightfall and GW:EN regions, but not in an area that is almost adjacent in the Tyrian map.

That's why it's very probable that inscriptions become worldwide and all weapons dropped uniscribd but with equivalent properties get inscribed.

Of course, Prophecies quest rewards, Collectors, Crafters, and rare stuff like the icy dragon swords, would have to stay the same.

Many people would whine a bit about losing some price in some items, but, hey, elemental swords may come inscribed and they are not precisely a cheap skin.

thats not the problem, go over to the thread posted by sixdartbart.

there are mods that cannot be made into and inscriptions.

People bitch that there over powered but what happens when they are made into inscriptions? think about it. Dunno if anet can exclude like 10 items from the switch so... yah.

I think that one of the reasons for leaving most Tyrian and Canthan (other than The Deep/Urgoz's) weapons as they are would be to promote NF, since that'd be one of the faster ways to get a good weapon without needing to pay for it.

The other one might just be that if anything happens, people wouldn't be happy, just like that one time there was the conversion to Skill Recharge being across the board instead of attribute specific (think that was the change, at least, fuzzy memory...), which rendered a bunch of unique weapons useless.
