Hi

I've just come back to this game after a year away, I've still not completed Prophecies but I'm trying to get some of Tanzit's gear (axe & shield). The problem is I can't for the life of me make it to Sorrow's Furnack from Droknar's ...

You may laugh but I've tried over 10 times to no avail. I'd like to list my build (although i've tried several) and gear and would like some simple noob tips if you don't mind.

I have 16 plat 665 gold to my name and I'm up to Ring of Fire mission. Could anyone please recommend what gear I should go for, all I see in the city's are people selling swords & axes for 100k which is going to take me a while.

you should start from Deldrimor Warcamp

having the henchies should be good enough, id recommend you pump up the weapon mastery you like, and use the skills linked to that attribute, so that u actually kill stuff

good luck

Getting to the Warcamp may be the problem ... It may be easier to reach through Snake Dance (Camp Rankor) then from Spearhead Peak. Try to find either Camp Rankor or Copperhammer Mines and leave from there for the warcamp.

A 100k sword is not going to help in any way, they are not better then collector weapons with the appropriate mods.

RA, reporting you

Your skills are fine, you just need to practice. That area is quite hard, as I remember.

I've done it from Camp Rankor, as a W/E. I'm looking at your build--I did it this way:
--Glad's Armor
--Supe Vigor, Supe Absorption, Supe Sword (you're using an axe here), Minor Strength
I used a Fiery Dragon Sword of Fortitude, and a decent shield (specced for strength)
--Build:
Res Sig
Endure Pain
Warrior's Endurance
Mark of Rodgort
--another ele fire skill
Sever Artery
Gash
Final Thrust
If you're taking henches:
-2 monks
-warrior hench
-mage hench
-mesmer hench
-necro hench
-ranger hench

In one of your weapon slots, have a bow.
Simple tactic--start from camp Rankor. take your time. When you come across a group of enemies, flag your henches back a ways. Use the bow to draw in a small group. Kill them. Move on.
It's not hard--just involves having a little patience. I also think you can cap a boss in that area (Mind Shock or Mist Form for Elemental; Earth Shaker or Battle Rage for Warrior).
Just work your way up from Camp Rankor, through Snake Dance. Take the portal to Dreadnoght's Drift. When you go through the portal, just follow the signs to get to Deldrimor War Camp if you don't have it on your map--my recommendation--or head to Sorrow's Furnace. here are about another 4-5 bosses in Dreadnought's, so I'd suggest going to the War Camp first. You'll be able to find groups there going to Sorrow's Furnace looking to farm, or do quests...
