The most tough character which could get the Survivor title is my warrior. (Although the process stopped after reaching tier 1) Do not even try to do running with a survivor to the desert mission locations....oh and avoid the tanker hydra + network error/reconnect combo

Most of my characters have at least Survivor 1, but I don't care to go for Survivor 3 anymore. Maybe on day I'll reroll some of them and try again, but for now I just don't care anymore for this title. Too many ***holes that will harrass you for going for it, which is sad.
My first attempt, monk, I made indomitable and died in Boreas Seabed saving my fiance's survivor ele. PuG group, before flags, heros, etc. No interrupts for kraken. *sigh*
My 2nd attempt, ele, achieved legendary but it's a long lonely road. Capped my way to my title. Capped all but 4 factions elites in 5 days, and several more in nf. Once I had my title I threw myself at Shiro. Fun.
My 3rd attempt, monk, she sat around for the the longest time because I was waiting for my guildies to help me. Finally decided to do what I did on my ele and hero it. Rubberband back into AoE against Jade Brotherhood killed me. Thanks anet. f12-enter not fast enough. I still had about 100 health when I hit it, but when I logged back in I had 1 death. I gave up.
It's a hard title to get, don't get too discouraged. I rerolled my chars several times, especially my Tyrian monk, before I ever got anywhere significant on these titles. Good Luck.

My new warrior died from a bad case of lag just after geting the rank 1 survivor.
My paragon got legendary however, by completing all 3 campaigns. i didn't even notice i hadn't died

well my bid for ledgendary survivor failed at 1,282,000 to boss aptly named korrub flame of dreams. whose loverly elite skill is called visions of regret.
I didnt do anything worng just got a usual anet lag spike and found my self out side the game. log back in and im at 1 death.

If you have to log out to save your survivor then you didn't earn it.
Yeah it sucks to lose it (I have 2 legendary survivors) but it feels so much better if you earn it instead of logging out all the time.

I attempted way too many times to count for a survivor 'sin. Once heroes were introduced, I had a dedicated Tahlkora for my 'sin. Bonding (Barrier, Bond, etc) and kept her pegged way out. The only thing I had to watch for was enchantment stripping. Finally hit the mark and I will NEVER attempt it again. 
Let a guildie kill me in a scrimmage once I hit the level 3 mark. I know he felt better.

Lost 2 Rit survivors doing arborstone. Once to oni and once to the ancient. Decided not to try again, cuz I hate playin rit anyway. But then again I already have legendary survivor on my Ranger, Sin, Ele, Monk, Warrior, and my Paragon is now at 1.1 million.

I lost my survivor on 800000xp on my mesmer versus Freezie. Yes I smashed my head into my keyboard quite alot. Did made it though. Still proud of it.

My Mesmer got taken out by one of the Ritualist bosses. Can’t remember his name he is in Nightfall and runs around with his grenade in his hands. I attacked his mob and I stayed back like normal. I was on a bridge which grouped my group together. Very BAD very BAD indeed. That SOB Boss ran into my group and dropped his bomb BOOM ! All my team got spiked in one shot. By the time I realized what was going on I was the last man standing I turned and ran while reaching for the map out buttons. But too late dead

"F12 Enter" is cheap, you have not proven that you can survive, instead have only succeeded in proving that you can log off really fast!!!
Every char on my account has Survivor 1 (It's the easiest level to get) 1 has Surv 2 and 1 has Surv 3... The surv 2 1 died from degen when my monks were dead, had plenty time to log off, but didn't...
Nothing worse that loosing a survivor title tho, specially on Surv 2, the feeling you get is kinda like... "Ugggh, now what do I do with this Char?" But you create another one and give it abother bash...

The only reason why I have a LS (ranger) is that I decided to reroll my ranger because I didn't like the look, and this was the only occasion to give it a try.
But, since I absolutely hate and cannot accept to fail when I do something, guess what I did? I farmed the title, killing in HM the jade brotherhood warriors outside the marketplace.
More or less 80k in scrolls, 1 elite tome, and 22-23hrs playing with one finger on F12 and another on Enter.
And I quitted several times, even at 90% health, as soon as I realized that I aggroed in a wrong way or I missed the right time to activate a skill.
No pugs, no missions, no bosses, nothing of those unpredictable things.
Now, what's the difference beetween my survivor and someone who played normally?
None, and that's what I find absurd in this title. It's the only title you have only 1 possibility to get, once you make a single mistake or you have a technical problem or an in-game problem (Vizunah cutscene FTL) you'll never be able to get with that char.
Imagine what could be the Protector title if you were requested to complete each mission+bonus the very 1st time you do, and if you fail to do m+b at the very 1st attempt you are not given another possibility.
Designed in such way, LS is a real offence to players' intelligence.

I'm quite glad the OP failed. If you can't get Survivor without having to map out to save yourself, you simply don't deserve it. End of story. Its 1 of the reasons why that title is completely worthless.

Feel for ya, my first ever attempted survivor was my mesmer, Had to log out quite a few times and only got to 400k odd xp then died xD I was annoyed of course, but It was a stupid mistake on my part and my very first try so I got over it.
Second attempt, my monkie, got legendary first try. Protective spirit, <3 you.
I think I only had to log out about twice the entire thing, as I rarely fell below half way hp and didn't endanger myself with random PUGs, heroes are your friend.

I've stopped caring about the survivor title track. My monk died far into Indomitable Survivor and after having him around for 9 months, I deleted him as a result of his death.
I recreated him and couldn't be more pleased. Now I'm not actually scared to use him for PvE/PvP! The survivor title track wreaked havoc with my OCD tendencies and now that I've decided to stop for the moment, I can rest a little easier.

My para died when my connection dropped right when a huge horde of djinn spawned at one of those ahdashim quests. Of all the moments it had to drop, it simply dropped at the flat out worst possible. I had hit survivor 2 a couple days before this happened, and was going well on the path to lv3... o well.
I was playing him normally thru NF, btw. I wouldn't grind for a title :P.

I tried this title at first on my paragon. I got to title lv2 twice, but I died on both attempts. The first time was because I was being cheeky with that one master quest in the Holdings of Chokim (or whatever it's called), and a lag spike made everything seem fine, and then instant party wipe when it caught up. The second time (after I rerolled) I died somewhere very late in NF; at that point I just finished the campaign for my green, and won't re-roll him until I feel like trying it again.
Recently, I've been doing a Ritualist. Being able to spec into both Channeling and Restoration is good for my health, plus ya got ghost decoys (although it is a bit slow). Right now I'm at about 850k, doing some XP farmin' in EotN. I'd be doing skill caps instead of quests, but SoC's are expensive, ya know?

This is not a 'skill' title is a 'luck' title.
You can't control luck. You diconnect, your character stay in the area, a patrol came, you lost the title. Not your fault.
I just can't understand why a title should require players to delete a character.
Plain senseless. Completely against 'Devotion'.

i made a dervish for this triple xp weekend. got to level 1 and took the nornbear quest. the weird thing was that just before fighting the nornbear, i had 0 deaths. while fighting the nornbear a strange thing happened. i had full health, and then i died instantly for some reason and acquired a 15% death penalty. i was a little bummed. then i checked the number of deaths i had, and i had 2. i should have had only 1. this makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
