Blindspam Sin: the fake blinding surge ele

Blind-spam sin
Critical Strikes: 8 (7+1)
Dagger Mastery: 16 (12+4)
Shadow Arts: 10 (9+1)
Earth Prayers: 6
- Vital Boon (Earth Prayers)
- Ebon Dust Aura [Elite] (Earth Prayers)
- Golden Phoenix Strike (Dagger Mastery)
- Repeating Strike (Dagger Mastery)
- Conviction (Earth Prayers)
- Way of Perfection (Shadow Arts)
- Death's Retreat (Shadow Arts)
- Resurrection Signet ()
Sideboard:
- Unseen Fury (Shadow Arts) instead of Conviction, when survivability is less of an issue or blocking is rampant.
================================================== ========
This is something I tried on Zenmai, but she doesn't execute it very well, so I'm just throwing it out for sins that wanna try it and report back on their experiences with it (I have a PvP sin not a PvE one).
The concept was to provide annoying blindness constantly with DPS since Temple Strike is expensive and doesn't cut it against condition removal.
the Vital Boon+Conviction was to boost the sin's armor armor and health level to an acceptable melee value.
Shadow Arts being replaced by Deadly Arts was an option for things like Expose Defenses, Disrupting Dagger, and Signet of Shadows, but then there is a 30 second recharge on Signet of Shadows and it doesn't do that much unless you spec into Deadly Arts more than 10.
A dual attack was considered, but the concept is to spam the blind constantly, so it seems that dual attacks would just require more effort.

good concept just a few things. i was going to type through all the changes, but ill just post a revised skillbar instead.
Critical strikes=11 + 1 + 1
Dagger Mastery=11 + 1
Earth Prayers=8
[skill]Ebon Dust Aura[/skill][skill]Jagged Strike[/skill][skill]Wild Strike[/skill][skill]Death Blossom[/skill][skill]Conviction[/skill][skill]Mystic regeneration[/skill][skill]Vital Boon[/skill] res sig
some reasoning:
3 attributes > four
high crit = lots of energy
fast recharge/low energy attacks= fast target switching and more blinding
mystic regen = best self heal in the game if you have enough earth prayers(eight)
Critical strikes=11 + 1 + 1
Dagger Mastery=11 + 1
Earth Prayers=8

My problem with Mystic Regen is the reliance on enchantments, and the fact that it is so often used. The reason I even bothered to spec in Shadow Arts is to get out of trouble (Death's Retreat) if there is enchantment removal which counters Conviction.
Other than that, it is a really nice modification of the original idea.

You might want to consider [skill]Unseen Fury[/skill] if you're spamming blind. A lot of PvE stuff now has evasion stances and blocking enchantments.
Also maybe use [skill]Staggering Force[/skill] so you can use Zealous Daggers to help with energy and lower Critical Strikes a bit to boost Dagger Mastery for more damage.

If you look on the original post, I did state Unseen Fury is an option. The problem with Unseen Fury is it doesn't combine with Conviction (since both are stances) which kills the survivability due to the lack of a +24 armor bonus.

you dont really need the +24 armor if your using jagged strike to spread blind. anything that wont be affected by blind wont be effected to much by armor.
also, mystic regen is so popular because its overpowered, and if your enchantments get stripped convictions regen goes into effect. annnndddd death's retreat will work just as well with 0 shadow arts.

+24 armor for things that aren't physical
...like the ritualists and eles that hurt so much

that wont be effected as much by more armor, it will some, but your better off with a nice heal.

I love how the first reply dumped Repeating Strike, which was basically why the build looked actually worthwhile.
Moar Expose Defenses makes you win.

Zenmai doesn't run ANYTHING well. The build could work ok, you just need to run it yourself, or it'll be done wrong. Unseen Fury is MUCH better than Conviction (prot spirit > +24 armor), so I'd use that.
clawofcrimson
I think I would rather have a blindbot ranger or paragon. you can spam more attacks... have better armour... and you are ranged... there isn't really an advantage to being a sin.
LifeInfusion
clawofcrimson, very true. One more idea out the window, lmao.

I must tell you good job. Your title is awesome. When I first looked at it, it said fake blinding surge ele. Sure enough, no ele secondary, no blinding surge. Totally faked me out. Congrats!
I love the concept, but it doesn't work? Hmmm... I'll see if I can try it out sometime.
