8 Air Magic (+4 head piece while running = 12 air)
10 Earth Magic (+4 head piece while fighting = 14 earth)
2 energy storage (i have a sup rune, personal preference = 5 energy store)
12 Shadow Arts

Shadow Form {E}
Storm Djinns Haste
Sliver Armor
Glyph Of Concentration
Feigned Neutrality
Deadly Paradox
Armor Of Earth
Stoneflesh Aura

galigords stone staff would be ideal, but i use jaynes staff myself, being poor

the E/A shadow form farmin build has been around for a while, so im not taking credit for this, but i havnt seen one specificly for IDS farming so this is mine.

Running there follows the same rules as any shadow form build, u only need shadow form, storm djinn, and neutrality (and always use paradox b4 shadow form) to get there. u can take any route u want, so long as u run it right (ie: dont let shadow run out in the middle of a mob :P). as for fighting, NEVER try to cast a spell without glyph of concentration, keep stoneflesh and armor of earth up at all times, and cast sliver when available. keep in mind there is no energy management, so let yourself regen b4 casting sliver when its ready. if u guys have a way to fit an energy gain spell in there, let me know. perhaps earth attune for paradox, just makes running slower cuz u have to wait for shadow form a full minute. good luck, hope this helps u ele lovers like me who didnt start with a wammo, and dont have one at citadel :P

Why Storm Djinn's Haste though?

Isn't Dark Escape good enough for you? =P ...
Without SDH you don't need points in Air Magic at all, and can max out Earth and put a bit more in ES... surely...

Perhaps because Storm Djinn's Haste is the most amazing run skill in the game? I mean, that's just one of the reasons you would run SDH over Dark Escape... also viable are the facts that Dark Escape lasts merely a third of it's recharge, is less of a speed boost (25% vs the 33% from SDH) and it's primary feature (taking half damage) means nothing with the farming build he's using.

Also, his bar has 12 in Air, which is an 18 second or so Storm Djinns Haste, which is MUCH better than a 7-8 second Dark Escape. Hell, Dash is better than Dark Escape if you only need to run places.

You could try dropping Armor of Earth and take a 10ALvsCold shield along with Hydromancer gear (+20AL) and a +7vsEle spear you could take Earth Attune.

I dont think you need so many points in air, its a 1/4cast so its not a problem to re-apply more often.

i have the points in air magic because while running through a mob with Shadow Form, u need every second. stopping to recast can be dangerous especialy when the mobs spawn close together and u must run through 2 at a time. with 12 air, and +20% enchant i think it came to 22 seconds, so even if shadow form runs out at the edge of a mob, u can usually get away. however the stone sumit herectics seem to like to chase you. i havnt timed enough runs to give a good estimate of time, nor have i used game cam, but i am planning on it. i cant play as much as i could a few weeks ago now, so if anyone else wants to film themselves and post it feel free. happy farming

Running there is easy i dont even use henchies
just cast Storm Djinns Haste then shadow form before groups
i can run there in like 5 min

how do u protect against inturupts? the imps cast maelstrom and with the huge mob of em, its almost impossible to get off a spell without moving first. and without paradox, or any other earth magic spells for dmg reduction, i dont think u have enough constant armor to survive. unless u use the armor with +AL vs. water dmg. im not discrediting your build, im sure it works, but how? if theres ways i havnt found for that build to work, please let me know. i see 3 mabye 4 non-vital skills there, so i could probly use those slots for longer sliver armor, and energy managment. thanks

I've tried both builds (Pyra Fade's and beltran13579's), both are good but from doing a few runs with both builds, by far Pyra Fade is the best and fastest in both running and killing imps. i don't like to wait for SF to recharge all the time. Anyway, thats my 2 cents, good builds both of yous. Keep up the good work

on beltrans build, shadow form would work for farming the imps, but only for its duration. once its over, you are dead with that build from what i can see. and i know it takes much longer than 20 or so seconds with sliver armor to kill all the imps. so if theres somthing im missing, please tell me beltran. perhaps using the AL vs. water armor to survive in between shadow forms? ill have to test that. if so, if i could drop armor of earth, and since im fighting while under shadow form, i could drop the glyph of concentration as well. that would mean...earth attune, and somthing for longer sliver armor...hehe this is why i love farming. thanks all for the input and suggestions

So I put the build together and ran there easy enough, but I got slowed so bad when they started attacking the imps that I couldn't get near anything. So "near by enemy" didn't happen. Am I just supposed to slowly trudge towards them picking them off one by one with sliver armor once I get into range?

EDIT: I've now killed a couple but once you're caught in the maelstrom you're pretty much hosed because I couldn't get Shiver off, I eventually ran out of energy and perished....

No one uses Mo/W any more? I use a modified 55 build and all it takes is 1 death to get down to 13 health and the entire run is a piece of cake.

EDIT2: So I better understand the timing, but still have the issue of never getting near the imps before I run out of energy. I got 2 or 3 down but with the 16% slowdoen and the maelstrom I move at about 1 foot a minute. The whole time trying to keep up the 2 defense spells and throw in Sliver when I can, and I'm just burning energy...

I can see replacing Feigned Neutrality with some energy management, as it so far for me has been a 'nice to have' and not a 'need'.
