Armour
Mr.Bimble
This is so cool. The bright people have changed the way we craft all armour. What can I say but what a useless, annoying waste of time!!! All armour is base,so needs everything added on.This nightfall system has replaced all factions and prophecies sets. Not a problem the price has been reduced and insignia just has to be bought. Now the gripe, insignia price is market led so the price varies, but the worst bit,SORRY ITS OUT OF STOCK!!! What a waste of time. Think about your armour, plan and decide what you need, then forget it because you can't buy it. Why anet has to meddle with things that do work and are simple enough for my poor old head to understand is a real piss off.
Rant over.

Factions had the right way

i love the nightfall system where you don't have to buy a whole new set of armor for new mods, but yeah, the availability of insignias should be controlled a bit more.
Does-it-Matter
Insignias are optional to beat the game, same with runes.
Lots of people begged/whined/pleaded/soldtheirfirstborn for this update. So it's either a vocal minority, or the "will of the community."
Either way, Market Prices and Availability will stabilize soon enough, we see this with just about any armor-affecting (or build) update or new Chapter.
Breathe in. Breathe out. Smile. Be patient.
It is the simpler solution, in the long run. Right now Core characters have 27 armor skins and 9 Variations (insignias.)
So, if we go with Factions-Style for everything (plus insignia-capable) that's 27*9 "pre-mades" plus 27 blank ones. (270 unique armors PER Profession.)
Now remember, we're getting new armors for GW:EN so that's X*9 more.
Sure, they are spread over a certain number of armor crafters... but at the same time what is easier? 270+X*9 spread over Y collectors, or 27+X spread over Y collectors?
(Warrior used as example.)

We should have the option of buying the armor Factions-style, with built-in, but un-removable insignias; or empty but with the ability to use insignias.
Rhedd
I haven't taken the time to post this yet, so I guess I should...
I, and everyone dear to me, are ECSTATIC about this update. It's fantastic! Wonderful! Best update I can remember!
I can now have a Drakescale chestpiece with a new Beastmaster insignia on it. What's not to love?

Streamlined and flexible item systems outweigh the extra cost. Making all armour inscribable is a great idea. Now they just need to change all weapons to be inscribable and I'll be happy.

I like the update. It allows a better choice between your combat needs and armor preference.

Also this gives new live to armors you already have, but were in fact only their for their looks. I have 15K gladiator armor. Then bought Obsidian Gladitors armor. Now I can upgrade my glads to sentinels ^^. Pretty sweet if u ask me.
Alunher Dragonblade
This is a Brilliant update!! Like Rhedd said now we can have any insignia on are favorite amour skin!! I do understand about the insignia market though that might be a problem
fenix
Complaints about armor being inscribable is silly, since it was something that EVERYONE wanted for so long. I'm happy paying extra to change inscriptions on different armor, means I can actually use it.
CyberMesh0
Take this as an example and buy the runes BEFORE EotN comes out. You'll be glad you did.
Enko
there was kind of a spike in prices of insignias when the update first happened but since insignias are also dropping on armors in prophecies and factions now, the price since has gone down quite a bite. the market's still balancing out since a lot of people bought insignias right away. hopefully the insignias being out will be a problem that will go away with a little more time.

The FoW armor I paid 1.3 million gold for is now usable again, thus this change was the best thing that ever happened. Anyone who thinks differently is just plain wrong.

I don't see what the issue is? They're really easy to come by, and like the others have said you can now have the update you want on the armour you want.
The insignias drop frequently, and if you don't have it immediately wait about 10 minutes and you're likely to end up with the one you wanted dropped. With the extra storage it's easy to hoarde them now, so just keep all the insignia drops you get and it's a really quick and easy way to get the armour you need.

Insignia sources tripled.

I loved that update. I was able to change my old armors to what I wished. Quite pleased about that really.
Costs a tiny bit more in the short term maybe, but as has been said, the greater flexibility is a boon.

I dont see a problem with this, i'd much rather have +3 energy on pyromancer armor rather that +10 vs fire:P
Hexum
HM farming will give you almost every rune/insignia you could want, plus it's free.

Insignias FTW.

Ok fisrtly I like this idea, and while some insignia are a bit expensive at the moment they are not too expensive,
overall I like how we can chop and change the insignia and runes on al armours now.
I do have one gripe though, I went out looking at the Elite armours i wouldn't have bought from cantha and tyria, but noticed that there has been no drop in price on them, they are all still 15k a piece to buy
This is a problem due to the fact that now they are even more expensive to buy, I thought there was meant to be a corresponding drop in price so you didnt have to pay out tons more for insignia as well. If you plan on puting on radiant at the moment you are talking of an added 1k per piece, and then there is the bloodstained insignia.
This is the one aspect that sucks for me, personally i was looking forward to buying the odd elite that i wouldnt have before this on some characters, now I'm put off by the fact i would have to spend even more

Let me see if I have this straight. Choosing the armor artwork that you want + choosing the modifiers you want = bad? Sorry pal, but you lost me on that math.

To the OP:
Give it a month or two when people are not so hyped up about armor changes, that way the insigma prices will become more stable, and there will be more on hand. You see what everyone is doing now, is buying out the insigma’s for corrections to armors they really love, because the functionality was not too great. I know some of the pricing is hard to swallow, but I think that’s why some of the implementations into, “how you can farm” in recent updates went into affect. This has really deflated prices on a very large scope, so it won’t be so bad in the long run.
I understand the reason the wanted to implement this system into all campaigns, was because of the people out cry for it and to technically make these less confusing. I personally like the system now, but I know I can say it’s a bit more enhanced then the old system.

Make all insignias cost 500G flat imo... and just have unlimited stick like salvage kits, i think that would be fine

Write a coherent post explaining what you feel would be better, then post it in Sardelac. When the OP of a thread is a rant, it doesn't go anywhere and ends up all over the place.
