What's your favourite type of tree in Guild Wars?
Agyar
Guild Wars has heaps of awesome foliage, so I want to find out what people prefer as their favourite type of tree in Guild Wars LOL.
My favourite is this fern. Are ferns even trees, lol I dunno.
So post your favourite type of tree!
As you may notice, this thread has received some attention in the form of heavy-handed moderation. To make sure we're all on the same page, yes this thread IS a joke and yes it was intended to create humour at YOUR expense.

The trees in Mineral Springs are my favorite, followed by Pre-Searing.
Slabby
This is my favorite tree:
Corinthian
Eh, anything that doesn't get on my way.
Age
I like the presearing trees as well but more so my Guild The Green Guild[tree]
Tahlia Tane
Favorite tree? Isn't this some sort of copycat of my favorite sound thread? BAH!!!
-Loki-
Wow, some people actually took this seriously.
Gaile Gray
My two faves are probably:The autumn-coloured Big Leaf Maple trees in Pre-Searing.
The cherry blossom trees in Shing Jea Monastery and the purple flowers there, too.
The first time I visited ArenaNet, in 2000, I watched an artist working on trees for the game. Since that time, I've always thought the game has really nice vegetation, and it's great to see it getting commented upon.
Monkty Monk
Pre searing Trees Ftw! those trees look awesome.
majoho
Melandru - she's a kind of tree
Curse You
I like these trees,
Technically speaking, they are trees.

No, not really. I like our game world, a lot. Any discussion about favourite elements in the game world and I'm pretty much there.
revelation
I like trees in Kurzick forests the most... They are so big and powerful
Arduin
I especially like this kind of trees you will find in the (Southern?) Shiverpeaks.
They remind me of our own Birch.

Not really a single tree, I guess, but I thought this was a good place to share my favorite (completely unedited) screenshot:
Arduin
^---- Nice sreenshot indeed
Longasc
I like the Water lilys in Zehlon Reach. They are a delight to behold while farming Skales.
I also like the often mentioned pre-searing look.
I think this thread is very important. The Sylvari will probably be awful treehuggers, let us make sure they at least have some proper trees to hug...

These have long been my favorites too. The trunks look really close to the Alder (yes, a type of Birch) trees that grow all over the place here in the Pacific Northwest.

If Jacaranda's don't count, I like the Shiverpeak's evergreens. Remind me of home.
Amon Warrior
I have "Willtree" in my Warrior's and Ranger's surname for a reason. I love nature by default and I like the abundant foliage that's in the game.
Among many, I like Willow trees. The long flexible branches make it a very interesting design; like a warm invitation to rest and relax under its shade.

I like all the trees in all campaigns but my preferred one are the one in the winter scenaries.
fenix
I remember from doing Droks runs back in the day, that there was this 1 spot you could stand, and look into a hole between the mountains, and there was a patch of trees at the bottom, looked weird, but pretty awesome
Kelv
my favorite tree has definatly got to be the big tree you defend in that one kurzick mission, with the tree singers
our team was getting owned because one of my guildy monks decided to stop and stare at the tree for a bit, and decided not to heal XD

I did that mission today (Eternal Grove). The trees are even cooler when they die, because the leaves just explode everywhere

That is a beautiful picture btw Pre searing, out and to the right of Fort Ranik. It's a little cave, pretty easy to miss.

There are so many beautiful sights to see in the Guild Wars campaigns.... It is something I doubt most PvPers would ever be able to appreciate.... but it is something that I, as one of those crazy Grandmaster Cartographer types.... know fairly well.
For instance...
Jahtenda Bog... Not one that has been mentioned here yet... but I have a strange appreciation for the various trees of the swamp. They have a strangely sleepy beauty to them.
The strangely crooked trees around my Guild Hall are interesting. You know by looking at them that they'd make great bonsai if they were a little smaller...
Much as Gaile mentioned herself... the cherry blossom trees around Shing Jea Monastary have a particular beauty to them. I selected an isolated one next to a cliff to screenshot... but there are plenty of others, both pink and white... and they really add character to the place. ^_^
The decorated acacias of Marga Coast.... I've long had my attention drawn to these in passing.... and not just the ones with strange cloths hanging from them either... The trees are quite fascinating.
And.... Drazach Thicket.
Drazach Thicket is love.
I still consider it possibly the most beautiful explorable area in the entire game.
Extra points also go to the Shiverpeaks... Jaia Bluffs (northern Shing Jea)... the Henge of Denravi and Nightfallen Jahai. I'll get pictures of Nightfallen Jahai's tree-"life" when I can actually sum up the willpower to fight all the way to the best spot....
