i just created a 55 monk because they are so good for solo farming

i read on a guide somewhere that dessert grifons were an easy starting place for farming solo.
i got there and i cannot find any grifons to farm

i am wondering did all the grifons get moved because the boss that has kepkhet's refuge needed a place? and also where other good places to farm?

Make a VwK rit and you can solo the mino's, griffons, scarabs and even Kephket herself (pretty hard, maybe undoable in HM, so I stopped doing my kephket run since loot scaling.)

The guide you read is months old. They changed the area so enchantment removers woop any 55's ass. Is you want to get to know your build, either try trolls or anything else warrior/ranger/elementalist. It'll be frustrating as hell at first, because 55'ing aint easy, despite what most people say(well, it becomes easy after you know all the tricks, but what doesn't).
A good place to start is hydras outside augury, just watch out for the meteors.

bring back the griffons! They are much more fun to fight than the trapper/necro bugs. Farming them wouldn't make you rich anyway and i sure miss them.

Every farming run will get you to be rich u just have to find one that get's you 2-3k in the end and a gold drop or two.Example i said i'd do 300 runs DS farming and i've done around 250.Every run gets me 1-3 golds(which proves that drop rates are random)+2k-2,5k,so do the math...I ain't complaining about money anymore(well untill next week that is ....

Griffons have Healing Signet now so farming them with a Monk isn't possible.
Your best bet would be Spoil Victor or a Dervish.
There are ~10 or so Griffons outside of Destiny's Gorge that can be reached easily, and another ~10-20 in Skyward Reach.

Desert Griffons are Old-School...

They were removed, and there was a story created because of it... Scarab plague that came by because of the plenty corpses available (due to farming). Even Kormir in Elona speaks of a scarab plague...

Aurek the Scarabhunter in Augury Rock:
"For years I have hunted the elusive and deadly Kepkhet, Queen of the Scarabs. Every time I have closed in on her location, she and her brood move on and seem to disappear into thin air again. Recently, I have noticed a pattern in their selection of nesting sites. It seems that they always travel to places where death is abundant, building their nests among rotting corpses and on blood-soaked grounds, usually places of warfare, sacrifice, or slaughter. It has been my life's quest to see that Kepkhet meets her end, but I seem to be getting nowhere on my own. If you go to face her, I pray the gods keep you company. Without them, I fear you will not be long for this world."

Griffons were the most fun I've had farming ever, 'tis a shame they had to completely destroy them for it.

I had fun farming the griffons back in the day. They're not really worth it anymore.

Elona Reach mission is a good spot to practice 55 if you are just starting. Kill the minotaurs; they are easy.

There are ~10 or so Griffons outside of Destiny's Gorge that can be reached easily, and another ~10-20 in Skyward Reach. Or an interrupt perhaps? Thats only in Hard Mode anyway, in normal mode they are still completely defenseless and make good practice for 55ing

There are also exactly 28 that can be reached in Vulture Drifts from Dunes of Despair quite easily, although you need to be able to either take out or run past a group of enchanted before reaching the teleporter. There are 8 groups of 3 and 2 patrols of 2. The spawns are always identical in quantity, although precise location tends to vary. Oh, I almost forgot, there is one variant mob which can spawn 2, or 2 plus either a W or Mo boss. Lastly, although Prophets Path is not farmable in the same respect as it was, there are still griffons there, albeit significantly fewer. And the griffons there always had a better droprate for golds, I think everyone can agree. (All of my r8 max weapons came from there.)
