I currently have a M/E I wish to use for The Deep, (I previously wanted to use my necromancer but decided against it). She is a Fastcasting nuker, and does some major dmg in pve.

if you want to go melee dont use IW as it is rubbish.. use a melee character. if you want to nuke stuff use an ele... mesmers are more than weaker versions of other profs you know.

Perhaps you could try this, to gain a faster killing rate.
But i agree with Phe, mesmers are weaker tanks, nukers etc, but the normal mesmer line is great

I suggest using an Ele for the Deep. But if you MUST...try some general shut down. Running fire spells is just bad. Just read through what you'll face, and bring some spells to counter it (like Frustration for casters, Empathy for melee, etc etc)

heh. I like to bring a heavy anti-cast and anti-melee around like ineptitude and backfire along with a secondary anti-cast/melee like empathy and diversion to compliment them. power drain for an interrupt and energy management and a degen for pressure. after that i find a way to compliment them for faster use like use arcane echo then backfire. wait. then backfire when I know it is going out to keep damage up or use it on another caster. same with ineptitude. and I always carry some type of res in case of emergencies.

An FC nuker would never have enough firepower (pun not indended) to take down the enemies in The Deep. For example the carp. They cast Shadow Refuge every 8 seconds, every 6 in hard mode.
Alot of enemies in the deep can out-heal any damage you dish out to them, and the exmaple of the creeping carp, theyre assassins, their heals are terrible and they wil be able to outheal the damage derived from your build.
My suggestion? Bite the bullet, make a Elementalist. Otherwise you could use this build for regular PvE, i would advise against it however.
