Hero's can't bond anymore?
mr_groovy
I don't know if this was a stealth mode anti farm nerf, but apparently dunkuro and tahlkora can't bond my char's anymore. No Life barrier, Mending or what so ever.... What the hell is up with that?
I tried bonding my monk, and warrior and both when putting up enchants get disenchanted the second I put them up. I tried in HM and Normal, and multiple instances in Cantha. There's np enchanting myself, but hero's just don't want to do it ....
Any other People Experiencing this? If so Gaile we would want some info on why?
I am not mad, I am disapointed .....
*edit just checked my necro, and ele both experience it too

Oh i think this is where they cancel the enchant Right after they put it on you, my guild leader had this problem and it turned out it was something stupid and overlooked.. But i forgot what it was ._. if i remember i will let you know.

Yeah, all you gotta do is Shift-Click disable all skills that require upkeep, then manually activate them. Otherwise the heroes will do that. Always been like that, as far as I know.
Luna Star
disable the skill before using it, it's been like that from the start of NF.

Yeah that works
I used to disable and then put up enchant. But I thought disabling it would keep the hero's from renewing the enchantment. Not canceling it all together. Oh well
disabling works ^^ thx.
<< Feels stupid for forgetting

Hehe, no problem

Yeah, that's an even worse bug than what you thought it was. The heroes cancelling the bonds if you don't disable them, it's pretty dumb...
Kale Ironfist
It's not a bug and it's not dumb. Heroes have AI for energy management and putting those bonds up while not in a fight is a waste of energy (to them), so they'll cancel it.
fenix
Ah yes, but that's why it's dumb. The AI isn't smart enough. People who bond know how to manage energy while bonding, without casting/cancelling. It wouldn't be too hard to make the AI do the same, without having to manually disable all the skills. Heroes do fine managing energy if you give them Blessed Signet and a skill like Power Drain, and disable all their bonds, surely it wouldn't be hard to make it work the same with them enabled.
Onarik Amrak
Well, they know how to use Holy Veil alright...
fenix
They use Holy Veil REALLY well, but the downside being that they use Bonds the same way, cast and remove :P

...yet they have no problem casting RoF on a friendly minion, out of combat, when they have no energy left and you just used Song of Power and they just canceled it and keep their energy pool completely empty as they continue to heal and prot the stupid minons.
Amy Awien
How should they know who to bond? Given the limitations of the interface it's not so dumb. Or do you know a better way?
Mad King Corn
My hero's have gone so far as to bond my rangers pet, bless their little hearts.

I have to say *obviously* because permanent-bonding is a waste of energy.
Abarra
If heroes have really good energy AI then tell me why Zhed and sosuke use glyph of energy (next spell less 25nrg and no exhaustion) before casting a low energy spell and then cast meteor shower which is high energy and causes exhaustion? o_O

Tbh... I've noticed the heroes getting more and more dumb.
I tested by taking out Dunkoro to Stygian Veil. He was set as a prot monk. Attacking the monsters in the canyon yielded interesting results.
He did try to fight degen by putting Protective Spirit on me. At least I got some healing.
He didn't try to use any of his two hex smiting skills. Shield of Regeneration he used once.
He actually allowed me to drop from 200 to 0 health, dying of degen, while doing absolutely nothing, despite having five unused skills and plenty of energy.
It kinda sucks

The ai tends to wait till some of the text description comes into effect. And hero can't use some sskill well. They think that hex smite is a waste of energy since there is no foe around you for the smite to work. SoR works only when you are suffering from high degne, or low hp, otherwise, they wouldn't think of casting them.
Just manually click, click and click the skills to solve the problem.

Well I have my Dunkoro set to do bonds. He will use it once the fighting begins. He can only bond 6 of the characters for some reason but manages his energy quite well and drops them after the fight. I do wish he would keep them up a little longer though. Sometimes the next fight is only a few feet away and he needs to start all over.
