Perhaps this has been noted before, and if so, the mods can delete it.

In the Riverside Province mission, Saidra gives you the bonus of taking out the watchtowers so that she can sneak a load of weapons past them to the Shining Blade.

Even though she says that she is in disguise, it is hard to see her in the dark, and I've always blown past this part with a group so quickly that I never noticed what the disguise was, until yesterday when I was out with heroes/henchies to pick up a missing bonus.

She is standing in the shadow of a wall, barefoot, and wearing what appears to be an Istani tribal outfit with tatoos. Im not much on the lore, but this is the first time I recall anything related to Istan before Nightfall.

Istan? I don't remember seeing anything like Saidra's disguised outfit in there.

Her disguise, while not identical by any means, bears a similarity to Istani female basic monk armor.

I got no female monk characters, so I had to check wiki what it looks like.

I don't think there's enough resemblance to claim Saidra's disguise as Istani tribal outfit.

No, I only saw a similarity to the tribal outfit, not that it was the same. Early concept art, perhaps. There is certainly nothing anywhere in Tyria or Cantha that resembles it. Of course, she may be disguised as someone from "parts unknown".

That's what I've always wondered about. The whole "It is me, Saidra, in disguise." seemed a bit silly. It looked like they just decided to use that unused npc model there and say it's Saidra.

My theory is that it was originally planned as an npc for Crystal Desert, but was not used then for some reason. Amnoon Oasis is the place where they have some living people, but they all use Krytan models now.

I was wrong about that skin being not used anywhere.

Since I decided to actually watch the old mission cutscenes again, I noticed in Bloodstone Fen the chosen villagers, that Hablion Cyclone Axes to death on top of the stone, all have that same look as Saidra's disguise in Riverside. Wherever the tribals came from, the Mantle had visited there with the eye. Somewhere in the surrounding areas of Kryta and Maguuma is my guess.

The White Mantle employs Ritualists (Factions!) and sometimes they drop White Scythes (Nightfall!). My personal opinion on Evennia's armor is that it looks a lot like female Paragon armor. But so does Mesmer Ascended Canthan with white dye...

I think that the White Mantle Ritualists are necromancers.

Yes, but back when Prophecies was made, ArenaNet didn't know they were going to make a Ritualist class, or a class that wields scythes. The minor naming... errors?... were unintentional and don't mean anything significant.

Btw, I know no one cares, but today is my first GwG birthday! Yay!

Exactly! My point: pure coincidence. Did you know there are people that believe that if you read the bible in a certain way, they could have predicted 9/11? The fact that if you take any big book, like The Lord of the Rings and read it a certain way (every 3rd letter in the second sentence on every page) finding 'patatoes are purple', is neglected. Also it is neglected that the bible is an english translation of the original.

People will always look for signs of some higher force at work, this time not the gods of guildwars, but their creators, Anet.

Coming back at gw: Any new characters in new chapter might as well have been named Justiciars, Sycophants or Zealots or whatever. Pure coincidence stuff and names look alike across campaigns.

gz on the bd!
