It is a far cry from anti-social behaviour. you have had a bad day at work or school and the last thing you want to have to deal with is a bunch of people saying I need this, help me with that, can I tag along etc...you just want to take your frustrations out on a few monsters before all the talk. 30 min and your ready to be social again.

I would love the "silent" log on feature.

Its not a matter of being afraid of dealing with guild mates and friends when you log in, its a matter of wanting a few minutes of peace and quiet before your ready to go.

/signed, for all the reasons already /signed for. Totally pointless to set to 'offline' when roster states you logged in 1 minute ago but were not even logged in the minute before. People notice that kind of thing, heh.

Just tell people that you are busy with something, you don't have to be rude and all secretive. Like come on, is that guildie really going to have his feelings hurt or some crap when you set yourself to away or dnd?
Sometimes your friends can be real annoying and you just wanna avoid them. Speaking of being antisocial, GW isn't the way to go if you wanna be social in the first place.

Bumping this, i know its old, but this feature really would be apreciated, also ive seen people claiming it was once an available option but was removed from the game...so im guessing it wouldnt be so hard to implement by the game programers?

Eh, I don't use the offline status but I don't see why it would be a bad addition. I'm sure people like Starcraft would appreciate it.
