I agree with that the other guild leader said. It doesn't have anything to do with seriously antisocial behavior. People in the guild get weird about the guild leader going on DND believe it or not and Away doesn't work because you still get inundated with pms. There are sometimes when I have very limited time to just hop in, do a quest and then get back to real life. When you log in as a guild leader, most days you can spend at least 15 -20 minutes just answering all of the pms you receive and then if that's all the time you had to play anyway it's gone. And yes, if you don't answer all of your pms, then people do get bent out of shape. I'm also not saying that I don't love being a guild leader and maybe a guild's not for me in anyway. There are just some days where you just need to chill and play. It's not a feature people are saying they want to use all the time because they have social problems, but a nice added convenience if needed.

what great guildies you guys are, you say that you log off and jsut go to offline mode. How about you just tell the person u wanna do some stuff alone, then you can avoid all the trouble, as someone mentioned above, social problems!
If you want to play undisturbed there is a DnD option, even a guild leader can do that, but if a Guild Leader is not willing to answer all his guidlies questions then i just think that person isnt set for the job or has hired pretty bad officers (which help with those kinda things, mhm!)

i swear we used to be able to do this. when did it change? and why can't we have it back?
any time i log on to farm, i'll end up swapping to multiple other characters, then back to my farmer. it'd be nice not to have my whole alliance come asking me for help just cause i show as online on another character for 30 seconds.
not that i mind it, truly, but if i'm all set up for farming or vanquishing or something, being able to swap back and forth without showing as online would be a boon. (the swapping is for salvaging, IDing, etc. we seriously need account wide titles too, but that's a different topic.)
so, yeah

It IS possible. When Eye of the North gameplay video's were spread around, together with that interview showing footage (and the new armors where everyone shouted reskin), there was in the Character Log-in screens bottom-middle an Online/DnD/Away/Offline thingy iirc.
With that, I think it wouldn't be that hard for Anet to put it in.
Unless I'm totally wrong about the above. Don't have the link to that video anymore =/

Personally I wouldn't need it that much since I just tell people that I want to be left alone for a while. I do not even use DND in case there is something important. Most of the people I know understand that you need a solo break once in a while.
However, seeing the Free Services section here and considering Guild Leaders are just as human as everybody else I wouldn't mind the option for others.
I can imagine some nice guy offering a free service here being PMed 24/7 cause people are generally too lazy to try things on their own before asking others.
