Hello,
I looked on the first 10 pages and couldnt find a thread of the similar subject. Sorry if there is one and i missed it ^^
Ok to the point,
I dont know if any 1 here on guru had made the mistake at the start of the game, calling there Character a pathetic, useless and just plain cruddy name... I did so as i didnt realize i would be playing this game so long xD
So now i have close to Koabd title and full FoW with the name of "Gobby Was Ere" shesh....
So dear Anet...
Is there anyway we can get a weekend where we have the chance to tie up all loose ends on names?
Maybe add a "Rename" button on the log on screen?
Well add ur comments guys =D
P.S wouldnt it be nice if i could have a FoW char with a hlaf decent name... /sigh

there have beena number of threads on this, and its been discussed by the devs and gaile i believe too,
If people are daft enough to chose silly names for their characters, then they should be stuck with it

It's not a silly mistake, a silly mistake would be to use a name and incorrectly spell it, but then most people would realise this then delete said character and remake it instantly, as I have done once. Giving a character a supposedly funny name and regretting later when you don't wish to either delete the character because you have done a lot with it, or because you think it makes you look stupid is the persons own fault, and why anet should waste time and effort to put in a system to let those that have done this change their names is beyond me.
In previous threads others have pointed out obvious abuses of this, namely scammers being able to change their names as soon as they have scammed folk, so nobody can recognise them.
Obviously a weekend event would counter this, but then you will only get complaints from those that can't get on at the weekend.
I'd rather have anet concentrate of events that are benefical to aspects of gameplay, not cosmetic things for those that couldn't be bothered to take the time to make a decent name.
Whether or not you thought you were going to be playing for a long time is irrelevant, its no reason to have chosen a name you don't like, or a silly one.
Why should I support people being silly? I'm not, for example, going to say to Anet, please don't give me a double factions weekend, instead just give us a weekend where people can change their names about.
neither am I goign to ask them to take time out from developing GW:EN and GW2, updating the skills, and releasing necessary bug fixes to implement a program for those that suddenly decide giving stupid names to characters is silly and embarassing, and let them change it
