How bad is the penalty on Tormentor's ?

Now while the extra damage received from holy damage sources looks like it would be nasty, I have two questions about it:
1 - Is the damage increase global, or does it only effect whichever piece of armor gets hit ?
2 - How much holy damage is there running around in PvE and PvP ?
If isn't that much holy damage, then tormentors doesn't look to have much of a downside, especially if I avoid enemies locking onto me in PvE (after playing a PvE assassin, this isn't too hard most of the time).

Tormentor's is pretty safe overall tbh.
There are few dedicated smiter enemies in PvE (indeed, the only enemy that comes to mind straight away as a smiter is the Azure Shadow), and Smiting's pretty lame and rarely run in PvP (and besides, +hp is usually the preferred choice of armour)
The damage increase is added globally - each piece you have adds more received damage, so if you're still edgy, stick to chest or chest and leggings, the most likely-to-hit areas.

Since nonarmor ignoring holy is light.
I am pretty sure all the light damage sources give + damage to you, globally and stacking.
I wouldn't recommend it other than the chest and legs since the hands, helm, and feet don't get hit as much.
chest and legs would give +10 from light.
chest+ legs+ hands+feet+head =+16 from light
Since light is now holy:

Do consider that Heart of holy flame and judge's insight would be very dangerous since it is a flat+10-16 PER HIT.
Even if you take 0 it would be +10-16 so it would hurt badly, especially from wanding.

So far I'm thinking I'll setup with Tormentors everywhere except for the bloodstained (not sure which slot to stick it in) and maybe +energy. If it becomes a problem, then I'll switch to something else.

Bloodstained on boots or gloves, doesn't matter which.
Also: I don't think the extra damage vs Holy stacks. It is location specific.

I'd say Bloodstained gloves. Hands have less chance to be hit when kiting.

I am pretty sure the old Tormentor's +damage from light stacks. That's why I never bothered with it. Maybe the insignia update changed it but before it was like the old knight's armor, which took ages to be made locational.
I don't have a set of Tormentor's or I would test it.

Originally it DID stack, back when it was a flat +5 damage per piece. But then they changed it so different pieces of armor had different damage bonuses (chest takes more extra damage than boots, etc)
When they made THAT change, it became location specific. That was like a year ago.
Then they BROKE Necrotic/Tormentors for like 8 months.
And just last week they changed the armor to use actual insignias. That fixed the broken Necrotic/Tormentor as well.
Ensign would know for sure.....

I don't have a set, but if you have Tormentor's armor, you can just use a fixed damage skill on you in scrimmage. Then after taking off the tormentor pieces one at a time, the skill could be used again (such as banish) and if the damage is different on repeated uses then it is stacking.

imho concidering that "light damage is now holy damage" ive started to avoid those avatar of balthazar builds for dervish out there in pvp concidering all there attacks are holy
