Ok soon i will be building my own computer ( a power house ) and iam on dialup. I dont really want to redownload everything on my old computer. And no i wont transfer anyfiles either, Why? because it might not act like it, but iam sure my computer has an old network virus. Cant have that on my new computer. Long story short, i cant transfer files and dont want to take forever to redownload.
I will be going to my brothers house to dl everything on his DSL.But, I heard a friend say theres some way to download everything at once. Something to do with '-image'. Any help?

Yes, I found this with a quick search on wiki.
Hope this helps.

Surely it would be easier, and less time consuming, just to run some AV software, delete the alleged virus and then transfer the GW.dat across to the new rig!

Get broadband. Having broadband (if possible) would be better then building a gaming machine and only having dial-up.

indeed, there is no point in a gaming machine if you are running dial-up.
get one of those $19.99 DSL connections. better than nothing when compared to dial-up.
unless u happen to want a gaming machiine for offline games?
try and bring your computer to your brothers house, run an online scanner like
trend micro housecall

if thats not enough, try dr.web
