hi
im starting a new warrior and im just wondering bout the secondary, want something a little different from monk. i was looking at a ranger for the apply poison, troll unguent tigers fury side of it, but reading some threads it seems w/n is popular. is that a better combo and can the warriors energy sustain the spells? will be doing a lot of pve.

If you use /N for anything other than Plague Touch or Grenths Balance for farming i will be dissapointed.
No point going /R anymore. Flail is about 200x better an IAS than Tigers Fury will ever be as far as PvE is concerned.

w/n you don't use for spells, you use for plague touch and maybe mark of fury if you can afford the points.

w/r --> beast master

As for non beast master W/R's, a long time ago Melandru's Resilience was used for farming (a wilderness survival skill) since it gives energy regen and health regen for conditions and hexes.

As for Apply poison, it is really expensive to use on a warrior which has only 2 energy regen. You might get away with it by using a zealous sword though, but form my experiences as a w/r I wouldn't recommend it.

ok thx guys

what is in your opinion the best secondary for levelling? (you're gonna say monk aren't u ) is the w/ele any good at low to mid level or at a push even a r/w?

By levelling, do you mean progressing through normal PvE? I find that /R can be fun with a pet, although he's not the best option. If you're playing Prophecies, you won't have access to Mending Touch, and I don't think Rebirth comes until you're in the Maguuma Jungle, leaving you with no good Monk skills for quite a while (that's if you go /Mo). I'd go /R, just because its more fun than the others.

EDIT: In regards to /E, you can get an elemental mod (any of them except ebon), and use it with Conjure <element>. I wouldn't really recommend much else from the Elementalist skills, as most of them have a too high energy cost to be used to any useful level.

--> obsidian flesh tank in Domain of Anguish.
--> KnockDown/aftershock combos with hammers
--> conjure + elemental weapons
--> shock warriors
but there is not condition removal or hex removal.

Consider that elementalist skills mostly are 10 energy or more. A warrior's base energy pool is 20 and has 2 pips of energy regeneration. This means you are basically confined to 5 that are used every so often and 10 energy skills that last for a while (like Armor of Earth).
