When I saw this "armor" in "Pirates of the Caribbean 3", the first I thought was: I want it as armor in GW! (it could fits in monks and mesmers very well)

I insist Pirates of the Caribbean has a lot of good clothing. I posted Elizabeth one because is really impressive, but indeed, that movie has many many possible armors for GW. The movie has a very impressive art.

Pirate 1-3 had some great clothes/armor ideas. As did LotR. But guild wars cant exactly rip them off. Maybe we could have something similar. And i would like to point out that Eye of the North is coming soon and we are supposed to get new armor for it. Cross you eyes and close your fingers.

But to the person mentioning copywright. They do not have to be exact copies of the pirates armor/clothes. But something similar.
I mentioned lord of the rings in my last post, a warrior armor like aragorns (return of the king) would be nice. It was a well designed and pretty armor.
Some new helms for the warriors would be nice do. Maybe a nice spartan helm.

No one is saying COPY the armor. Just look at it, and draw a new one with "Elizabeth" one in mind.

Ride the lightning is a pop culture reference. Someone said it's a term used for people sent to the electric chair? I'm not sure where it came from, but if it were propagated by a film it is not under copyright, since you can use 10% of anything without it being in breach of copyright.
That also explains the Rit dance, although I'm sure since it's such a signature piece Anet DID get permission for it. Since it wasn't such a major film (although it grew hugely in popularity) they wouldn't have had to pay exhorbitant amounts for it. If they wanted to use anything from PoC they would have been charged a FORTUNE.
ANd don't bring up the 10% thing, because the costumes are only partially under copyright of the film. They are actually the intellectual property of the costume designer, and copyrighted as such.
And NeHoMaR, If you actually looked at some of the canthan armour you'd realise it's already quite similar in design. If they designed armour with Elizabeth "in mind", knowing they could only freely use 10% of it they'd just come up with what we've already got. Even if it's not on the characters, just look at the NPC's. We have an entire asian continent that has the Elizabeth Swann armour feel...
