Customization - Acount wide?

Recently I've wanted to customize a few of my weapons but have failed to do so because it just doesn't seem worth it. The trade off for the 20% damage increase seems very unfair; never being able to sell it to another player and being able to use it with only ONE character make me all together frustrated.

I may want to create a new warrior down the line; this means all the weapons that I spent a lot of money for and may have customized are worthless. I think customization should become account wide, still making the weapons of minimal worth to other players and actually might give me a reason to customize that one perfect weapon, that all my characters could use.

Any opinions?

Hmm, definately not for use by other players, but per account is a reasonable idea. Maybe rather than making it customised for <character name> or <account name>, you could 'transfer' customisation between characters on your account only. I say transfer, because if you could remove it, then you could resell it, making the 'locking' of customising pointless. So you could go to 'Customise' tab at the weaponsmith and select 'Modify Customisation' which would give you a drop down box of your characters? And perhaps limit the amount of transfers to 5 per weapon or something...

The point of customizing is exactly that. You get a great bonus but for a restriction.

I customize all the main weapons of my chars. For example, my warriors FDS, my monks Forgotten staff, my eles galigords. Only one customized weapon per char seems fine. If, however, I had a rare skin (fellblade, etc) and I wanted to show it off on all my chars I would leave it uncustomized becuase I don't own it for it's stats, just the look.
