OT but I asked my mom if she had a pet dinosaur when she was a kid when I was 4.

Hmmmm...I wonder is this really a poll for GW or for who visits guru?
Zork FTW! Nothing like a text based RPG to get you going. Not on an apple though...

Based on playing experience, there has definitely got to be more 13's than 2.

+33% of players are +26 years old! that mean 1 of 3 are +26 year old. I am happy because I am 30 and hate kids

Has this question, of the community’s age been dealt before?

Also from my experience many "older" folks dont seem to bother much with forums.
I'm 23 btw.

16 gonna be 17 this summer... wich some people would disagree to because I am rather mature for my age (not a phat chance but hey...)
bungusmaximus
Started playing games when you played them from tapes, go figure :P
Kotetsu Rain
I'm 15....
I've come a across a bunch of adults in GW and I can get along with most of them. The funny thing is unless we're REALLY having fun things like age don't come up. So I think there's a chance that I was 'direspectful'a bunch of times to the wrong people....
Not that all adult payers are cool...some are just annoying.

I have a question... I'm going to be 30 in 21 days. So, what do I choose?

A little over a month before I hop over into the third bracket, and I think I'm one of the youngest members of my guild.

ill be 21 in 5 months. pvp community is jam packed with people my age, and the bracket above mine, so not shocking on those results. most of them are male though, so im still a minority. go me \o/

I'm so old, I remember when Guild Wars was on Dos as a text adventure.

I started with this; I still have it, from 1986:
Note the controller has just one button, and no, it isn't wireless, it's just picture edition, hahahaha!
So, today games (including GW) are all amazing more me!

Wow - I thought I was one of the few 40+ Guild Wars players being 44 next month, but it seems there are a lot of us in this bracket!
Along with many of the other oldies here, I started playing PC games back at the beginning of the 1980s. My first computer was a Sinclair Spectrum 48K.
I taught myself BASIC on that machine and even wrote a few simple games for it.
My first PC was an 80286 with a whole 256K of RAM! It cost me around £400 (getting on for $800 US) to upgrade that to 1 meg of RAM so that it would play the original Wing Commander. Anyone else remember having to create game specific boot disks? :-) The joys of HIMEM.SYS, EMS, XMS, and trying to get work out early Adlib and Soundblaster IRQs :-)

Although I'd have to say my first video game experience had to be the old Coleco handheld games that used the LED lights, primarily the football one. That was back in the early 80's. I have literally been a gamer since then. I didn't even know what school was yet.

22 until September.

I'm 14.
10 or so years ago (quite recently turned 14), I would refuse to touch any games or computers because Windows was ugly, and they didn't look fun. How wrong I was.

26-29 group here. Fondly remember the Ataris of the mid-80s! First computer was a Dragon32, the CPU ran at a quite dizzying 0.8MHz!
Playing the ASCII-based 'Quest' on the Dragon32 (at the tender age of 5) was also my first taste of RPGing - Guild Wars is sure a long way on from that!
I'm among the youngest in my alliance btw...

Turned 41 this year. Nice to see there are more of us old timers than I first thought. Actually I don't think we have anyone under the age of 30 in our guild right now. Apparently the need for more frequent bio-breaks is a huge turn off for younger people wanting to join our guild
First computer game experience was Ultima III on an old Apple. Then got hooked on that text based game (Can't remember the actual name... something about caves) that was common on Mainframes. Never looked back after that.
