Advice for Jokanur Diggings on Hard Mode
Takeko Nakano
I'm going to attempt this tonight and was wondering what people advised in terms of grouping, Melonni's configuration, etc. A few people I know tried it and just failed horribly because of hex spamming.
I'm a monk and a mate that may come along is a warrior.

I'm a monk and a mate that may come along is a warrior. Would be the same configuration that my boyfriend and I had. He's a Warr and I'm a Monk so when we did Jokanur Diggings we set up Melonni as a normal reaper's sweep as her elite. (I'm sure that there's better builds out there but we rarely ever bring her along) The third party member was Olias with SS/Reckless haste/Rip and Desecrate enchants since hard mode the mobs have permanent IAS along with everything attacks including casters.
The one thing to look out for wasn't hexes I remember, it's the death swarm spike from the Restless Deads. Those can get very nasty if it's a large group, I'm pretty sure my setup was a standard ZB with Pspirit/Shield of Abs.
Tip for this mission is to let your warr friend to run ahead and pull the dead at least an aggro bubble away from you and wait a bit till you are sure they're locked onto him which is usually about 3 secs.
Sorry for the grammar or if it seems like I'm just jumping around, I literally just woke up when I typed this

You could always just make Melonni into a BHA Ranger (with a limited skillbar for energy). Easiest way to survive the fights is to stop the spellcasters from been able to do anything and to weaken/reckless the melee.
Course that only applies if you aren't a Ranger yourself. I just gave her Vow of Silence to keep her safe from all the hexes that get spammed at the start.

Melonni died one or twice, but I found it was more to do with conditions than hexes. If I'd failed I would have tweaked my skillbar, but as it is the necro worked a treat on the boss so job done.
Thanks for the advice.

Did this tonight (playing monk). Had some help from a friend I've made and we've been doing HM missions together.
I have no idea what kind of a rit build they were using. We had Melonni set with stuff that made her do holy damage. I was an Air Of Enchantment smiter, and we had Dunkoro on the side doing some heals.
Wiki recommended using a bonder. I hate bonding. :]
Mission was pretty easy except for a part where we got slightly confused as to where Kormir was going and hesitated on the 2nd book. Smiting synergizes so well with dervishes that stuff dropped pretty easilly.
Except for that one hiccup and for some disconnect issues, the entire mission was pretty cake.

Well put, I hate bonders/bonding myself. I always rather prefer bringing something else rather than a bonder.

Have done (and got masters )this mission in HM today with heroes. I used Dunkoro with Light of Deliverance, Razah playing a Ritual Lord and Melonni using a reaper strike build. I played a warrior. It was a rather easy run with this setup.

Going to try again tonight...had hard time with Mel, Koss, Myself as SF ele and dunk...
Hexes kill me and yes deathly swarm...
My plan is Gen Morgan with lots of Arias(healing), Norgu with Caster shutdown and Monk support, self as air spike and Melonni as Balth tank...
I will let you know...

I am glad that this post has been created.
Any ideas on how to do this with a necro?
I am really getting cheesed off with this mission to get masters.
Anticipated thanks.

I did it with the below heroes and my W/E. Two main things wait for MS and BAL to recharge before moving on to next group. I used Melonni as the Argo taker where possible, i.e. flagged her into enemies alone.
Yes this was my 6th try and numerous different builds tided.
[Grim Diggins Hard;OQYTsyYK5prIXgdQFlC4zphxBA]
[Zhed diggins hard;OgBCoMzDdDYMWbaCRkBugWA]
[Melonni Diggings hard;OgCjkyqDLPu3Bc9F66cfuYXmLA]
[Dunkoro Diggings hard;OwUT02HCXRj2o7OnsgKyfiJA]
Win some lose some, BUT when you lose take NOTES!

Me and a Guildie got quite far after about 2 hours...but did not finish...some notes...our team was:
Human (E/ME) SF build
Melonni as Avatar of Lyssa Tank
Human N/ME
Dunkoro
Backfire/Diversion works really well on Grub lances/storm seeds and Necro dead.
We had SV whihc was okay, my guilddie prefers Blood to curses
The plan was to take out the grub lances/Storm Seed/Preying lances/then Ibogas.
Blind/Weakness would be a good idea on Dead Wariors.
We would aggro with Meloni, then Necro would use backfire on caster while I did a Glyh Sac MS on the Caster. Then hit with SF/GG/LF.
We died at the entrance to the Apocrypha with a heavy deathly swarm hit...
Saw some advice that hex removal confuses Dunkoro...also LOD can be an issue for him...Bring 5e heal skills

this mission is becoming quite irritating for me now!
its not so much what the difficulty level really is (hard mode) but the fact that you HAVE to take melonni along.
So it is really a 3 man party.
sucks man

Melonni makes it actually pretty easy, just equip her with Heart of Holy Flame or Avatar of Balthazar for double damage on Undeads. I completed it easily with Melonni equiped with her starter scythe and a crappy skill bar including Heart of Holy Flame.XD
Also helps to make one of your Monks protector/smiter.=P

Avarre
Melonni with scythe attacks (and imbue health)
Morghan with spear attacks (and some shouts)
Avarre with domination damage skills (and death pact signet)
Tahlkora running Glimmer (i dont know why)
Just run in and blow things up!
Really, nothing should put out more damage than you, because the enemy groups you fight are small.

The easiest way I have been able to do this mission is with a dual smite build. The "tank" Mo/D running Spellbreaker. The hardest part is getting rid of the 2 or 3 groups with a monk in it. This does mean taking 2 real players. One the "tank" and the other can be anything (preferably high damage to get rid of the monk). I have the other person bring Melonni setup as the smiter with Holy Wrath, Retribution, Balth Spirit and Vital Blessing. Once through the Grub Lances and the groups around them the undead are no problem.
The reason this needs two real people is so the second person keeps Kormir way back out of the battles to keep her and Melonni from getting killed.

Did this on Dervish earlier. Was a walk in the park. Melonni using my other max scythe and avatar of dwayna so she woudln't die as easily and is 1 less person to clean hexes off and Imbue Health... for the sake of it.
1 Prot/Smiter w/ Judges Insight
1 ZB Prot
1 crazed dervish who likes 3 digit numbers (yellow preferrably).
The only 'on edge' bit was when i stupidly went afk and came back halfway through a fight with a mob of 4 that was in front of me, lol.

Me and a friend have tried it many times but always failed. I'm a para and he's a warrior. His set was just damage, mine was armor buffer, melonni with VoS and a fire ele. Do you guys have any tips for us?

I'd suggest drop the Fire Elementalist, and get a Healing Monk. Give Melonni Avatar of Balthazar or Heart of Holy Flame for double damage on the Undeads.
