Hi people, I just bought the game Guild Wars (Game Of The Year Edition) and I installed normally. Now I tried to play, but it's really laggy.
I changed all the Graphic Options to the bare minimum, but I still have alot of lag. You might be thinking "maybe you don't have the minimum system specifications". Well, I have every specification for the recommended, I'm just not sure for the Video Card.
I'm sure it isn't internet lag because the game sometimes freeze (which cost me already 5 deaths).
Minimun System Specifications:
- Windows 98/2000/XP
- Intel Pentium III 800 Mhz or equivalent
- 256 MB RAM
- 2GB Available HDD Space
- ATI Radeon 8500 or NVIDIA GeForce 3 or 4 MX Series Video Card with 32MB of VRAM
Recommended System Specifications:
- Windows 2000/XP
- Intel Pentium III 1 Ghz or equivalent
- 512 MB RAM
- 2GB Available HDD Space
- ATI Radeon 9000 or NVIDIA GeForce 4 Ti Series Video Card with 64MB of VRAM
My System Specification:
- Windows Vista
- Intel Celeron D 3.3 Ghz
- 448 MB RAM (Supposed to be 512MB)
- 60GB Available HDD Space
- ATI Radeon Xpress 1100
Well, I would realy appreciate if someone could tell me what is the lag problem.
Thank You.

I think I read somewhere that Guild Wars isn't supported with Vista, so that could be the problem.
Gimme Money Plzkthx
You need more RAM, and I think that's an integrated graphics card so that's the main problem... celerons suck in general, but that one is good enough.

low fps, or lag as in "rubberbanding"?
Salokin X
witch is a good + cheap graphic card that would do to stop the lagging?
mkinney
yeah deff you need more ram
I get almost no big lag... but Im also running a computer that is about 7 years old too
Windows XP Home SP2
Pentium 933 Mhz
total of 540gigs
768mb SDRAM
ATi 9600
yeah I know its really a crap pc, but I still am hitting aroudn 26 FPS.. seeing how you can only see 15fps a sec anyways its good enough for me... plus hell i fig its good for how old the pc is and the best thing on it is the 500 external HD that I run everything off of ( via USB2.0) the internal HD is where my operating system is.

it's your ram without adoubt. up until a fw weeks ago, i had the same problem. i have an integrated video card also, and it was using too much ram for me to run gw without lag.i was always the last to load in, and would go thru full battles and not even see 1 atk(man it sucked). i added a 1 gig stick to my pc, and now the only time i have any lag is when the severs are acting up.
hope this helps, and good luck

Whoever put Vista on that system needs shooting. Although seen as it's already there, have you checked on these-
Indexing
Defrag
Defender
Vista has a nasty knack of running things in the background which will severely disrupt your performance. Also, turn off all the fancy Aeroglass malarky too.
As mentioned above though, Celeron + 512MB + Integrated Graphics = not a pleasant gaming experience.
