So I'm bored and thought I'd waste a peice of paper with my idle scribbling. Didn't turn out as horrid as I thought. It's probably the first drawing that I've done that I like. I know there are bits that need work (hand holding the staff is too small), but I'm keeping it as it is. It's a bit pale in some places, but it looks fine on paper. I conclude that it's my scanners fault, as it took about 6 scanning attempts before it even showed up, and took another 5 before it all came out well.
Anyway, I'm gonna regret posting this, and I'm sick so I'm not thinking straight, so I'm gonna wake up tomorrow and think 'OMG wtf did I do that for?!?!' Before I go, mention if you would consider getting a commission, so I can see if there is necessary interest for me to bother with it.
Btw, I have an almost finished pic of Nika, so expect another pic in a few days.
EDIT: It's my Elementalist, Nora Moonstaff. The armor was going to be 1.5k Aeromancers, which she had at the time, but I decided to just use it as a basic concept and run with my imagination. Enjoy!

seems like you indeed just started drawing again ^^
Some things that may help:
In this picture, her legs are very short. Compare your own body to the drawing . In the drawing the arm is longer than the leg, while in real life hopefully your legs are longer than your arms. To avoid making mistakes like this one, try to globally sketch out the lines. Then bodycheck it (take yourself as the example, or some other reference material) for proportional mistakes. After that, start working on detail bits, like fingers, and eyes and nose.
Don't be afraid to sketch, sketch lines can be erased or left on the paper to give it a more "active effect" instead of the clean lines you chose to pick.
If your paper runs out but your character hasn't, don't try to fit it in ^^ just cut off some leg
And don't be afraid to post perhaps we can be of help
Keep up the drawing and not just out of boredom ^^.

I think I made the picture too big as I went, as I started from the feet for some reason.

I sort of do this, but not like the guy on the video posted by kenichiukiya (177 lessons...). I start with a circle around the hips, then draw a line for each leg, then one up the center of the body, and one at the top of that line, for where the shoulders will be. I generally make it more curved in females, because it looks right, and from what I know. Thats really all the sketching I do on these full body ones, but on the portrait on Nika that I'm gonna get up before the end of Monday (hopefully), I've done more facial sketching than I normally would, though it still looks kinda crappy.

Grr never!
---------------------------- Anyway, no one has expressed interest in commissions yet, so if you want to get one from me, express interest! |
