It seems to me that alot of people are choosing Dervs as their necromancer secondary in Nightfall lately. Is there a decent build for this, or is it just that everyone wants to be the "Emo with the Scythe"?
This is just what I have been noticing; it could just be all in my head...

Dark Bond + Mystic Regeneration offsets Order of Undeath nicely too.

Basis of the build is synergy between Contagion and dark aura. If you get a condition on you Contagion triggers transfering that conidtion to nearby foes it sac's 5% hp which in turn triggers Dark aura for 50 armor ignoring damage.
Spike sequence goes as follows - with contagion, darkaura, and mystic running
Wearying strike (40ish scythe dmg+deepwound+weakness+50 dmg from dark aura) -- plague touch (Contagion only triggers when NEW conditions are applied)--Signet of agony (you sac 10% from agony, dark aura triggers, you sac from Contagion at the same time, dark aura triggers again, bleeding is spread)---- follow with another wearying strike for same result as above
This attack sequence will do ~300dmg +deepwound+bleeding+weakness
If you wanted to just do a quick spike as the previous sequence takes a few seconds you could simply open with weaying and immediatly follow with signet of agony this results in ~200ish dmg plus deepwound bleeding and weakness and takes about 1 second to execute
Funny thing in Randoms i have actually solo'd rangers by using nothing but plague touch. run up they put conditions on me like say if there using apply poison when they do, dark aura triggers and they get the condtion back i plauge touch they recondition me dark aura triggers again and so on till they die LOL. It is also kind of amusing when shadow prison ganksins attack me they often die themselves. Every condition they apply to me they get applied to them and at the same time take darkaura damage.
Overall this build has been more fun than ive had for a while in randoms. My survivability isnt too bad either with mystic giving me +9hp regen. So give this a try its a blast.
Oh and btw i noticed a strange thing about plague touch for some reason it will always plague touch bleeding before weakness even if i apply weakness to myself last it will always transfer the bleeding first oh well...
**Have not tested this on a Dervish/necro although now that i think about that could work also you would lose some damage from dark aura and sac more life but might make it up with having higher armor you'd also gain another skill slot as you'd drop signet of lost souls**

It should be noted that the build above can easily be modified for most PvE circumstances. I have also used Lich + Mystic builds to actually run some missions, for example Iron Mines of Moladune.
My favorite version of the above for AB is the one where you substitute Conviction for Death Nova. Using this, you simply become a walking, devastating suicide bomb. Your health regeneration with all enchants up is +12. There is no degen that can really hurt you. Enchant removal is a bitch, true... but most of the enchants are easily reapplied. You can be taken out, sure... usually by massive conditioning melee attacks triggering your Dark Aura too many times, but to what cost? Every foe in the area gets all your conditions, takes massive shadow damage, and end up getting poisoned and spiked for 100 damage when you die.
Just this day I got ganged by four assassins, with no backup whatsoever. They all died. I did too, but at least I think I had by far the more satisfying laugh at the situation.

Oh, and just to spam the topic with another note... I've managed to tank in Hell's Precipice mission, completing it successfully using hench/hero.
