I'd see about having it upgraded to an Inspiron E1505 through Dell. Would be much better for gaming. Not much of a price difference.

But, with what you have to work with (after reading up on some specs) there's a lot of bloatware on there included from dell. You could try closing down as many un-needed programs running in the background as possible.

All Inspiron 1501's come with this graphics card:
ATI RADEON® Xpress1150 256MB HyperMemory™ (Integrated)

Since it is slow, lag should be expected. There are things you can try though:

- Get rid of the junk trial software that Dell installed on your computer. If you don't know how to do this, you can use this: http://www.pcdecrapifier.com/
Never tried that program myself, but I've read good things about it.

- Turn GW's graphics settings all the way down and see whether it improves. (It will probably still lag anyways)

- Try the -dx8, -noshaders, and -nosound command line switches. Instructions here: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Comma...line_arguments

You need a better graphics card, the Radeon Xpress 1150 is useless for games. I don't know if it's even possible to replace it on a laptop, at least on one that wasn't meant for gaming in the first place.

Also, if the specs I found with Google are correct the laptop only has 512 MB of memory, this is just barely enough, upgrading it to 1024 MB wouldn't hurt. The graphics card is the main problem here anyway, don't bother with more RAM unless you can get it replaced too.
