You should note i use this build primarily for AB so hex removal and blind isn't too much of a problem. If you worried about Hex removal and blind drop shadow walk and dash for expose defenses/siphon speed and mending touch and reallocate points however you want. This is just the way I run the build.

While the holy veil argument is all well and true the same could be said about dozens of other assassin builds, theres just not enough slots on a bar to prepare for everything. With that beeing said observe your targets and chose which to spike wisely. Anyways any criticism is appreciated but plz dont reply with flames pointing out over obvious things. Another thing is if your worried about holy veil switch your attack combo to jagged strike>>wild strike>>shattering assault that takes care of hex removal and each attack recharges in 1-4 secs to you can keep the dmg coming.

Expose defenses is nice, considering every warrior in AB has riposte or some defensive stance, and every ranger has whirling and every second assassin has flashing blades.

This has nothing to do with criticism. When posted in the right way i have no problem with it, but when posting obvious things which nearly any assassin will have problems with in a flaming matter thats when it becomes a problem. I've been playing GW for over 2 years now and read these forums for nearly that long as well. Although during that time i've noticed the kind of flames and things that go on with this forum which was whats held me back for so long on taking a active role in beeing a member of these forums. And now that i finally do something constructive for the forums first thing i get in response is a flame. So no ty ill just go back to beeing a observer with nothing important to post, good day.

its fun; it's also an old, old trick. the only innovation I see is judge's insight, but unless I'm mistaken, that has a horrible cast time and duration, moreso with low smiting.

spiking fast > spiking big I'd say. In AB everyone seems to run 2 sups and a minor vigor anyway. The prep time for your spike and required energy are too high for this to be really effective and the window of opportunity is small.
JI+burden is better done with someone else taking JI. Take a [skill]Master of Magic[/skill], [skill]Signet of Removal[/skill] or [skill]Air of Enchantment[/skill] smiter and then train on a target.

I can believe that, in AB. But why are you overkilling? If you're still getting all the kills with just burden, which you should be easily against 60ALs that aren't healed quite significently, drop JI for a self heal or utility or shorten your chain as appropriate. The bare minimum is really the ideal.

This is overkill to a extend but on some monks or warriors or even earth ele's you need all 4 attacks to bring them down which is why i bring all 4 attacks. For the most part though i just need black lotus to get to the chain without auto attacking for energy though. But i guess im just a big number freak i like seeing 170+ dmg per attack and seeing people say "WTF JUST HIT ME? ??" it brings me a sort of satisfaction you just cant get running the same build 9 other assassins are running at the same time but does the same thing as your build. Anyways this build does work alright running a jagged>>wild strike>>shattering combo but energy is tighter running that. Theres many options to run, this is just something i came up with to see how big of dmg i could get and i was just quite surprised at the results and wanted to share it. If the overkill worries some of you just shorten the combo up or drop JI for a self heal or hex/condition removal or another cover hex. Im just showing it how i've been running it lately.

1. Shadowy Burden 2. Black Mantis Thrust 3. Wild Strike 4. Shatering Asault 5. Impale? for a deepwound All 3 attack skills have 4 sec recharge. This way u can spam shatering asault better and gives u a better snare. If u concentrate on reducing armor whats the point of using other duals other than shatering asault. And u won't get out of energy very fast unless u get no crits but if u use critical eye than is hard to not get any criticals. I'm not saying that my combo is better than yours but i can switch target after a kill much faster while u have to wait for ur skills to recharge. Though I must agree that ur build can spike better. Yeah I can c this build in action. Mostly any counter to melee is a counter to this build. Also protective spirit. Like u said those r obvious problems with all assassin builds. Pretty much this build is as good as the others because the counters r the same, they do the same thing nearly. I think a shadowstep would help this build out though if u can fit that in. Judge's Insight might be a bit bad for the build because ur already kiling well enough. I'd take sundering daggers instead since to kill some1 u won't ALWAYS need that 20%. Then u have an extra spot. U can use another shadow arts hex or a heal. That's just my 2 cents though.

I have to admit i didnt think about using black mantis thrust with wild strike and shattering. That does sound nice but energy would be the key concern for me. As for adding impale...thats 4 attribute lines you gotta split points into then which may be overdoing it. I try and keep dagger at 16 for this build for the most dmg and while JI is definitly expendable using a 4 sec recharge combo is going to require a greater investment in critical strikes to keep the energy pumping. I would probably try and bring shadow arts to 9 so shadowy burden lasts 10 secs since that build has more of a pressure feel to it. candyman_sb

I didn't say u have to put points in deadly arts, the impale is just for DW and I think is worth it for 5 energy even if it wont do any extra dmg.
If u could have 12 CS and critical eye u wouldn't run out of energy to fast and u would have enough points for shadow arts. I dont think the sup rune is any good, 75 hp>3 dmg. 2 major runes+1 minor would be ok. edit: Tested my build agains master of healing and protection and couldn't kill them. Then I tryed my deathblossom-moebius, they got owned. Then I used my derv with lyssa with same results as moebius. Any dps build that can't take those out is weak for me. So my build is low on dps maybe yours is better. |
