I have recently fallen in love with my sin anew and as a result have been pouring some time into developing builds with unloved elites that I think have huge potential. Let me know what you think...
First is my current AB build...
[skill]Siphon speed[/skill][skill]Beguiling haze[/skill][skill]black lotus strike[/skill][skill]Twisting fangs[/skill][skill]black spider strike[/skill][skill]Critical strike[/skill][skill]recall[/skill][skill]feigned neutrality[/skill]
Second is my keen arrow PvE ranger (this isn't really intended for PvP, but it does work still in AB/RA).
[skill]Keen arrow[/skill][skill]Hunter's shot[/skill][skill]needling shot[/skill][skill]disrupting accuracy[/skill][skill]critical eye[/skill][skill]way of the assassin[/skill][skill]critical defenses[/skill][skill]way of perfection[/skill]
The idea of each build is fairly self explanatory really - firstly the beguiling haze sin allows me to take casters down in AB like there is no tomorrow. Siphon speed acts as the hex to get the combo working, obviously it can be removed to negate the combo, but so long as you're savvy you can reapply the hex before their hex removal tool is back up (since no-one takes elite hex removal into AB). It also acts as the snare since shadow prison isn't being used.
Most monks can't cope against this - it wouldn't work against 2 monks for obvious reasons - but against a sole monk, they're pretty screwed. Eles too have a very hard time dealing with dazed, even geomancers. I find them satisfying to take down since they do insist on trying to make themselves invulnerable :P
If the combo fails, just keep applying siphon speed to keep them in range to attack again - if they survived the first time, they sure as hell won't survive the second :P
Ultimately the benefit of taking beguiling over temple strike is that you apply it at the start of the combo and have a decent shadow step at your disposal too. Although temple strike will cover the dazed, due to it being an offhand, a monk will often get his prot up before it applies. The blind is a very nice element of it though, and makes it more flexible at taking out warriors etc. However, I generally find that most melee classes are no match for a sin 1 vs 1 and if they are a match - recall back to a party member at your nearest convinence :P
The keen arrow spammer build works on the basis that you've maxed out critical strikes and can perform a critical hit on more then 50% of your shots. This keeps critical defences up as well as providing you with the benefits of staying at range.
Keen arrow does about 110 damage on a 60AL foe when it criticals, making it a potent tool.
Needling arrow is there for an interrupt really, as soon as your foe drops below 50, it allows you to keep them pinned down indefinatley. It also looks cool to spam out
Way of perfection is there in case critical defences gets stripped or ends for any given reason. Having both enchants on also makes you damn tough to take down. Just remember to keep reapplying way of the assassin otherwise you'll end up with a stuffed up bar since it's so delicately balanced.
