Mo/Rt

I've always played clerics in games, My nature is alwas supportive in everything,
but now there are SO many terms in this game I have NO clue as to what to do. I was going for a great healer/protect combonation, But realized I might have my info on EVERYTHING wrong.

Help with- Skills/ atributes?
Answer my question, "Is a Mo/Rt worth it? If not, What's better?"
Energy conservation? I'm so/so with that so far, But I need Help!

PS. PLEASE don't put anything in abbreviations, I honestly know Nothing of this game.

Honestly, I don't like the concept of Mo/Rit or Rit/Mo. I find that you have basically the same thing.

Some people think that combination is fine, but personally I think its a waste.

Monk/Elementalist with Glyph of Lesser Energy or Monk/Mesmer using some Inspiration Magic for energy maintanence.

A really good monk will need no secondary, but then it takes time and practice to become really good at monking.

I have a Mo/E (Elementalist). You can try it out, and if you don't like the combination of Mo/Rit, then you can have it changed when you get to the city called Senji's Corner. You get to that city after the city mission Nahpui Quarter.

Good luck and enjoy.

Mo/Rt isn't really too good of a choice.
While both proffessions offer supportive abilities, such as healing and damage mitigation, the skills and attributes overlap a bit much - Restoration Magicks and Healing Prayers are near enough the same thing.

As a primary Monk, you'd be better sticking to your monk attributes than using ritualist ones for support - you'd be able to bolster their power with runes, and monk skills have the benefit of Divine Favour. Instead, try looking at a secondary that would help a monk in his true area of weakness - energy.
As Pick Me said, both /E and /Me offer some decent skills to keep energy high.

rt/mo's acceptable as it gives a rt access to hex removal, mo/rt really doesn't offer the monk anything. In RA you could possibly argue a case for vital weapon on a life bonder at 8 comm. Offering of Spirit is basically offering of blood but better if someone's running spirits. These days monk elites are a far better choice than the old boon prot favourites.

I think /e is easily the best monk secondary for pve, perhaps the only exeption being if you want mantra of inscriptions which is /me. Leader's Zeal is usable from /p at just 2 motivation, a little used skill delivering you a conditional 4 energy every 12 seconds with no activation time. Really gole is the only secondary skill I use in pve nowadays unless I'm bonding and often even then.

Yes, a combination of healing and protection prayers is the best. Probably, Mo/E with Glyph of Lesser Energy as energy management will be the easiest to use. Here are some possible builds:

Mo/E Zealous Benediction
Mo/Any Light of Deliverance

If you have Prophecies chapter only, you could try
Mo/Me Word of Healing or bonding.

Only reason why you'd use rit as a secondary for a monk is if you want the energy management skills associated with it. But ele and mesmer secondary would be much better choices for e-management.

I run this on my Monk heroes with a Resto.

[skill]Aegis[/skill][skill]Reversal of Fortune[/skill][skill]Shield of Absorption[/skill][skill]Divine Spirit[/skill][skill]Deny Hexes[/skill][skill]Protective Spirit[/skill][skill]Offering of Spirit[/skill][skill]Guardian[/skill]

But that's mostly because the AI doesn't use any of the Protection Prayers elites properly. Also they spam Protective Spirit and run out of energy so if they have that then they need some sort of elite energy management. I wouldn't recommend it on a human, [skill]Glyph of Renewal[/skill] + [skill]Divine Spirit[/skill] is better.

I would rather use a Monk Elite and use GoLE anyways if you aren't near a spirirt you sacrifice all that health. That is just as much as using offing of blood.
